Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hey guys...been MIA so I am looking forward to catching up and reading some RRs. Congrats Chris and Melissa! I had a busy week with a coworker having a major health scare and a bunch of family stuff. Got in a nice fast century ride yesterday...March was a very good month but April might be a bit of a bust with AIMS (standardized) testing at work and hubby working lots of overtime. |

Brooks has always been only shoe that feels wide enough for me.... Acquired a pair saucony pro grid 2 shoes..liked but they feel like they are built on a narrow last. Anyone agree? was kinna looking forward to a little "cush" but not if im going to get squeezed in the process. comment on best wide running shoe for general use. (have cascadias for trail runs, Skeechers for track work) I have nothing to offer on specific brands but have you tried using men's running shoes? That's what my wife buys, specifically to get some extra width. |

(have cascadias for trail runs, Skeechers for track work) I have pretty narrow feet, so I wear Zoot, you will want to stay away from them. Asics are a lot wider, esp in the front toe box area. You can also get Asics in different widths: I know this because I ordered a pair of Nimbus (ran in that style for 10 years) that were a great sale price, only to find they were extra wide. Good luck! |

Can't wait to get outside at all for some regular riding like this! Did manage to get out for ~half an hour though, after near 5 months of all indoor. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Went back to see the doc today for my arm. six more weeks out of work and can't lift anything over 1 pound with it for two weeks, then start to build it up to 10 pounds for my next appointment. I think my hopes of doing a half iron are out of the question. Going to leave the flier hanging just for inspiration and keep some kind of focus. |

I got in 55 mins on the trainer and then at lunch I will be going to the track for my first ever track workout! Yep, 4am was a rude wake up call to me this morning as well....even though I didn't get to sleep in yesterday. Tuesdays seem to be especially hard as I have a master's swim on Monday nights, so I don't get to bed till after 9:30ish. Everything in my body tells me to bail on the workout, but I feel so much better after doing it....I always have to remind myself of that, and that usually gets me to the bike! Have fun at your track workout! |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Up early on the west coast. Mixture of hunger and the need for sprayable aloe on my back. Swim went pretty well yesterday. Burn bugged me a bit under my straps but nothin too extreme. Easy ride today. Hope I don't see a snake on the bike path like I did during my last ride! I was in aero and came across a "stick" on the road...it wasn't a stick....lol. Jumped in aero when I saw it. Never really seen one so close--it was a metre long! *shudder* |

Goal is to get to the top around 21-21.5 minutes at 315 watts. That sounds like..... fun? Yeah...it's an uphill TT that I train on quite frequently. I know every inch of the road like the back of my hand. Hard not to when you're only going 8-12 mph and you're staring right at the ground most of the time. LOL. I did 22:08 last year and there was a light rain that made the roads wet. So I'm thinking I should be able to go 30-45 seconds faster this year. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() ligersandtions - 2013-04-02 8:44 AM As far as pain there isn't any, but on the upper arm where it was hit there is a lump about the size of my fist. Doc says that all the muscle that hasn't been used and was injured on impact. He said pt should take care of it so that starts Thursday. All of the other swelling is gone and the forearm, wrist and hand look normal finally. I have to use one of those hand grip things to get my grip back in my hand as well as put my upper arm on a table or desk and push it flat and pull it toward my head since it won't move on it's own. I'm told this plus pt will get it going again but need to be patient. Other than that I've been going to the gym to just work on legs and I can now start to run. Still need to keep the bike on the trainer for two weeks but the streak still goes on. Guess it's a good time to bring the bikes into the shop and get them worked on.KansasMom - 2013-04-01 5:18 PM heykev - 2013-04-01 4:40 PM Went back to see the doc today for my arm. six more weeks out of work and can't lift anything over 1 pound with it for two weeks, then start to build it up to 10 pounds for my next appointment.
