Elite 2645 Phoenix, AZ | Subject: RE: Ironman Arizona : Official Thread All three bladders that are on site have been installed, inflated and safety tested. They are fully operational. A fourth bladder is being manufactured by Bridgestone and will arrive in October/November for installation. A coffer dam is being installed so that Town Lake can be filled once Arizona Department of Water Resources has given approval. The coffer dam should be finished next week. There is no date yet to release the water to fill Town Lake. |

Member 68 | Subject: RE: Ironman Arizona : Official Thread I did a very hilly century ride a few weeks ago for the Livestrong challenge but other than that I have been hanging around the 80 mile mark and will hit over a century again over the next 3 weeks. Running has been up to 15 and will top out at around 18 - 19 over the next few weeks. Swim has been pretty light unfortunately, can you tell it's my least favorite sport I will get up to around 3000 - 3500 over the next few weeks but that will probably be tops. I can't stand the pool so it will have to be in open water which I much prefer. Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Thanks for the update on the dams! Nice to hear they are progressing as they said they would. thanks Mark |

Swim will be creeping up to 4000 by mid month. Taper starts after Election Day. Glad to see the lake should be ready with time to spare. Happy training and stay healthy and safe. |

My body has come back nicely ater IMWI, but mentally have a hard time "just getting out the door..." Congrats on IMMoo! I raced Rev3 on the same day and granted my weather here in NOrCal is on an upswing (102 yesterday!) I keep thinking to myself "PR IMAZ" and I picture what I want my finish time to be. Do you have a specific goal for IMAZ? Maybe write it down and post it in a few places around your house/office as a reminder. |

In the dream I was having an amazing swim, it was in a river going with the current I got out and my T1 bags were all over the place, nothing was organized. It took me a long time to get everything together and then I run out to the bikes only to realize I had left my bike at home! I just laid on the ground sobbing. Guess I shoud book my TriBike Transport today |

I plan to get over 100 miles on the bike twice. And I plan to get to 3,800 meters in the water also twice, at least. And that will have to be good enough. And no, I haven't trained enough. I have started fantasizing about a broken leg. |

Expert 1224 | Subject: RE: Ironman Arizona : Official Thread Just in case anyone is interested... I rode the Beeline today and posted the elevation profile on my page. Mile 1 through ~10 is from the beginning of the Beeline to Shea (the IMAZ turnaround). Mile 10 through 21 is from Shea to Bush Hwy on the Beeline. Saguaro Lake is right off Bush hwy so there's a possibility that we'll be riding from here. |

I am tempted to rent a street sweeper to clean up the shoulder. Besides the random tires on the road, it was pretty clear today. You still have to be careful, but it's been a lot worse. For those of you who looked at my elevation graph... please note that the elevation variance is only 800 ft (1,200 ft elevation to 2,000 ft elevation). There really isn't any steep climbing so this graph can be deceptive. I just wanted to show that it is slightly steeper from Shea to Bush Hwy compared to the beginning of the Beeline (hwy87) to Shea |

Member 52 | Subject: RE: Ironman Arizona : Official Thread Abbie R- Thanks IMWI was a good time, a good day and right in my back yard.. I do not have a goal worked out yet, lot of factors going on here for me.. I have never traveled for a full distance IM, I have never done more than one in a year, and I will not have seen the course before race week.. So a lot of factors there, I know this typically is a rally fast IM course so that is pretty awesome. Thinking around 10hrs 30mins will be a solid race for me, pending that I recover well and have a solid month of building into this before taper time and of course weather..This will be my 3rd full IM, only have done IMWI... Yup just was struggling a bit this week, gets a bit lonely, before IMWI you see 100 people or so on your training rides, now post IMWI, you see like 10... Hope the IM nightmares go away!!! |

Much more scary then the tires and glass! We are used to seeing them on the ride around South Mountain but not on this ride. Have you guys encountered any dogs? |
