Rest from running today, although I did swim.

It sounds like you've had a very miserable time, Yanti. Take care of yourself.

However, I did manage to run 2:10's at the track last night   MAJOR improvement for me!
Hm. Sitting on an ice pack just doesn't sound like my particular definition of 'fun.'

How about sitting at the table at 5:30am prepping for a 9mi run on Sat am?
I know, I'm pure psychotic all "d'way tru"

Way to prep...I am doing the same, only its 8AM, seems I couldn't get out of bed early, so drinking one more cup of joe and then out the door for about 8 miles...report back how it went!

Rain delay... we're pushing back 30 min and cutting out the downhill.  9 mi shortening to 6    It's 43 degrees, 90% humidity, and 100% sky cover.  I did NOT move to the WEST to have to train in January Louisiana weather.  REALLY considering just hopping on a TM at work and watching GameDay(Besides I have to be at work before 9 anyhow).

Option 2 has become reality.   Hello Mr Winter

Waiting for some sort of break in the weather to get in a run.  We've had at least 5" of rain in the last 6 hours based on the pool water height increase (can't go any higher)!

It was 55 degrees and sunny today in Portland, ME!   But, I will have plenty of "winter" runs in 6-8 weeks.    I got my 8.35 miles in.    Now 7 sessions done, 20 to go.

I would be lovin the option of running while "at" work...that means, your a professional, getting paid to run and all.

Way to prep...I am doing the same, only its 8AM, seems I couldn't get out of bed early, so drinking one more cup of joe and then out the door for about 8 miles...report back how it went!

Logged about 7.1 miles this morning.

1.25 miles to register for race/ 1.25 miles back home.

1.25 miles to the race; 5/8 of a mile around the lake to warm up.

3.1 miles for the race. This was my first time running in torrential rain and hail. It was actually kind of fun, now that I'm warm and dry. :-) Some people bailed on the run, but I endured it.

I hope everyone has a great day today.

Great running weather this morning. Got a slow 8 miles in, hope to get another 4 tonight when the leg isn't so tight. Time to rake the leaves.

Was only going to do an easy 1.5-2 miles before my ride today, but it was so pretty and I felt so good I added a couple more.  I'm holding onto every morsel of this beautiful Ohio weather while I can.  October and 80.  Crazy!! (in the best sort of way)

Have a great weekend everyone!

While I can technically get paid for up to 1.5 hrs of working out each week (lunch breaks 3 x's a week) I never really take advantage of it.
On the other hand... I've been here almost 4 hrs and haven't run yet.  As well, running on a TM means I'm visible and accessible to public and employees =>  Constant interuption!  That's why usually I prefer to run outside.

5k race done for me today...  really more of a training day than a "race" - plus it was my first time in an event where I didn't have to swim and bike before the 5k run...

Weather was great!  Go team MW....

Hi piglets!

Must drastically revamp my goals--probably to sessions instead of minutes, and probably most of it walking.

Many many thanks to those of you who know me and have wished me well, I'm still recovering from dengue and typhoid, ew.

You know, *most* people just come down with a cold. Or maybe the flu. But generally when people say "I'm sick today," they usually aren't referring to dengue and typhoid. And especially not *both* at the same time.

Out of curiosity, I had to go look back at my blog for last week (when I felt worse, but had another spike this week as is common with these illnesses):

This headache beats up Ultram. This cough hocks loogies on codeine. And we won't even discuss what the diarrhea does to Immodium.

Tossing and turning with fever dreams last night and waking up freezing in sweat. Blargh!

Someone remind me I ought to be grateful I have those medications at all.

Someone thought today would be a good day to turn the electricity off.

DogBait brought in a fresh gecko he started munching on. This is how I really know I'm sick: I was too tired to panic and run screaming and jump in my car and lock the doors and call my neighbor surf piglet Jim to come rescue me.

I threw a towel over the gecko and beat DogBait away from his kill and out of the house with a coat hanger.

If you're sick enough that strong meds don't help, you're really sick. I am also stupider than rocks and stubborner than azzes, so I wouldn't have listened if anyone said go to the doc.

But not reacting to the gecko? I must have been knocking on death's door. Silly me.

Thanks, Deevil I am feeling much better these days especially since the worst of the dengue is over and I'm on antibiotics for the typhoid.

Well Northeast, I am back from the Bourbon chase and I logged another 29.8K - 18.5M (more than doubled my mileage in two days!)

I had an amazing time running 200 miles across the Bourbon Trail with my relay team. Despite 90 degree weather and construction/ teammate-illness necessitating an extra 4k on my part I managed to stay positive (and kinda loopy due to lack of sleep) and either keep to my 9.35 minute per mile projected pace or even go a bit faster a couple of times!

It was an amazing experience, I got so choked up when I hit one mile left on my final run then again when my whole team crossed the finish-line together in downtown Lexington to the most elaborate fanfare and biggest party I have ever experienced.

I am running a fun run today with my son and we are volunteering for the 5k and I actually feel great, no qualms about keeping right on track with my program and completing my 1/2 marathon on the 23rd.

Happy running everyone and, of course GO NORTHEAST WOO!

Well, I have some bad news.

I tried running this past Fri.  I was at 2 miles, doing an 8:50/mile pace, and then *WHAM*, major inflammatory and arthritic pain occurred in my right hip and leg joint.  I could barely walk.  For the next 40 minutes I had to hobble the 2 miles back to home.

I'm sorry to say that it looks like I won't be running the 1/2 marathon at the beginning of November and I'll be dropping out of this challenge since I won't meet that goal now.  Walking has been a challenge of its own.  Sleeping has been rough, too.  Nothing but rest for the time being.

To the rest of you, peeps, keep up the great work and meet those goals!

It's been a lingering thing since I gave up volleyball quite a few years ago, but it's been getting worse.  I thought I had it under control.  I don't know if it's a weather change, the shoes, or overuse.  The last 1-1/2 weeks just caused it to flair up really bad.

I was on my way of getting my speed up, but, now this.  I'm quite pizzed.  My body isn't liking me anymore.
