DAY 31 Unsweetened.....Have lost....2 pounds since going sugar/sweetener free.  Appetite is changing so hopefully this means body will start responding soon and has started burning more fat for fuel!

Ever hop on the scale, then wind up going to bathroom and then hop back on it again just to see if the number has gone down?  Yea, me neither

Tonight I have a date and we are meeting for oysters and champagne.  Not sure how the scale is going to react to champagne.

Champagne is actually one of the lesser evils in the alcohol world. In moderation, it should be no problem.

What is this word you speak of?  We are triathletes = type A

I must admit. Moderation is not a word I can use for either champagne or oysters

AGREED!!!!!  Although tomorrow, since it is the start of a new month, I really want to take a bikini shot, so by keeping that in the back of my mind should be a huge help!  I need to start taking weekly pics again as it motivates me to stay on track.  At least my date tonight has already told me he does not have a sweet tooth, so there won't be that question of splitting a dessert or not.  I've also told him that I've been sugar free for a month.

Looking forward those monthly shots....hahaha

What do you mean by no sugar? No added sugar? Are you eating fruit? Just curious. Processed carbs certainly send me into hunger.

Will share from another thread -
Not doing so well physically. Went to the gym and was really weak. Have benched 70 lbs at my best and have been starting with 40 lbs. The other day using the bench press machine and had to keep lowering the weights, 10 lbs felt hard!
Then woke up in the middle of the night with the worst cramps and runs I ever remember having. Felt like glass in my stomach. Don't know what it is, but cause it came three weeks into the juice fast I'm assuming it might be that - guess you can't live on green juices, beans and salads forever

Damn if as soon as I ate a breakfast I started getting hungry and grabbing food. It took all my willpower not to drive for a Snickers bar. Hoped that not chewing would kick start me into more discipline around food. I think I need to be structured even if I'm not juicing - lay out the days food and leave nothing to think about.

Hopefully I'll get some energy back. One thing I learned is that I feel better on a high protein diet.

I was really invested in proving everybody wrong and juicing my way to a 20lb loss. It worked for Joe of the RebootwithJoe.com site. Oh well...

Good January for me - 167.6 on 1/1...161.6 today! Definitely not going to complain about 6 pounds!

Now I need to set a February goal (weight & other ones)...

I've upped my calories a little in MFP - 1200 was just too low for me. Working with 1400 now and seeing what happens.

Down a pound this week, so I am one pound below where I started for the month. That was gaining 2 and losing 3 due to vacation interference.

Now to increase this tiny momentum.

133 today!  Down 3 pounds since we started.....please let this be the tipping point of getting down.  Here's today's pic...yes I DO NOT have a stick figure structure.  Darn muscly quads.

I cut out all sugar, sweeteners and honey.  Fruit is fine, but I cut it out last week, just for a few weeks to get my tastebuds to change.  Yes you can train your tastebuds!  FOR ME if I cut out sugar even fructose it resets my tastebuds and cravings.  Someone asked me yesterday what I crave now and ironically, I crave texture rather than a flavor.  I crave the crunch of celery!  I know, it's bizarre, but a much better craving than chocolate covered gummie bears!  Yes, I regret the day I ever tried those at the movie theater, sounded gross, but I had no idea how yummy they would be!  Also note I've gone grain-free....strict Paleo worked for me a few years ago.

Labbit, labbit, hello February. After the last of the holiday parties, I started counting calories and lifting weights again. I gained 5 lbs in the period from about Halloween/Thanksgiving through to the week after New Year's, due to overeating and practically stopping all physical activity! Back on track as of January 9th!

January 9 - 131 lbs

January 28 - 127 lbs

I'm 5'1" and my goal is 120 lbs. I know lots of women who are 5'1" weigh a lot less, but getting to 120 lbs seems like such an insurmountable task that I can't picture what I'd look like weighing less. My February goal is to get running regularly again, and to lose another steady pound per week. Thanks, everyone.

I did hop on the scale this morning and Im still at a pleasingly plump 222lbs, the same as last Monday but that still puts me at a 13lb loss for Jan, my official weigh in will be Monday... I ran 5.18 miles today, I'll try to keep my eating under control to the next two days and see what happens.

Great job everyone...some good results!

135 for me - same as last week.

Plan to start moving toward a more Paleo type of diet in the next week or so as an experiment. I already eat 100% gluten free, so it will be a matter of adding in some fish and chicken, plus eliminating rice and potatoes. I think I can do it.

Weight log for Tri-ing to Weightloss
1-6-2013 165
1-11-2013 163.5
1-18-2013 160.5
1-25 159.5
2-1 158.5

Got really weak on the juice fast, really weak - weight lifting was a joke. Quit when I got sick the other night with cramps and runs. Might have not been connected, but it was time to eat again. I do well on a high protein diet. Might just juice a few days a month.

Abbie - what a hot chick! Those athletes quads are great for hammering on the bike (did I use that term right?) and for pounding the pavement.

Libbet - 120 sounds low enough to me. I'm sure some 5'1" women weigh less, but are they athletes? Muscle is dense and weighs more than fat - go by how you feel and how strong you are.

I'm 5'1" and for now my dream is 136-140, at 53 my aspirations are lower.

Congrats to all you losers!!

Darn sexy quads!  Oh... and the rest of you, too.  I said it before: you should be glad I'm married.  I'd totally stalk you.  ;-)

As for me, I did the scale thing today.  I dunno how, but I'm sitting at 241 in full uniform.  I'll post tomorrow what I weigh sans heavy clothing.

Just weighed myself in my sleeping clothing (fight shorts, boxers, tee shirt, socks).  233#, which means I'm neither losing nor gaining.  Seems like a repeat of 2012.

When did this paleo diet become all the rage? Don't know much about it but isn't is basically a low carb diet minus the cheese and processed low carb foods.

Yeah I know I couldn't stick to paleo for any extended period of time, love cereal and a few other dairy and processed items. I've always just tried to cut back on bread and sugar and smaller portions anytime I want to drop a few lbs and it always works until I get lazy and fall off the wagon again.
