Just spoke to Aaron.  He sounds good, and says he feels like he just finished a sub 11hr IM, but feels good, and now he and Andrew are going to get some grub.

well done guys!

Today was my first time watching an IM and volunteering. All I can say is wow. It is really hot and humid-and these folks are amazing! Saw Aaron looking strong a few times as well as someone else wearing BT gear.

Sorry I can't remember right now-I got up at 3:15 am to get ready for my shift, so I'm a little out of it right now.

But-I'm overwhelmed by the emotion and toughness of these folks. Great job and Congrats to all the finishers.

Oh yeah, it's pretty dang awesome to see these folks in the early morning (I was bodymarking) and then watch and cheer for them during the S,B,R and then finish!

I just looked at some other finished and the last 2.6 is really fast for everyone, I wonder if the distance are just estimates and it is really not 2.6 miles.

If it is a marathon, shouldn't it be 2.2, to go with the 6 laps of 4 miles?

4 x 6 = 24 + 2.2 = 26.2

I am glad someone else noticed that.  I bet that is why there are some crazy final splits.  It should be 2.2

What time will be on the clock at the official cut-off?  Depends on when the athlete started, yes?

Athletes crossed a timing mat to start the swim; thus their official time is different than the clock.

I am not sure what they are going to do when the clock read 17:00.  Clearly, there will be athletes still on the course that have been out there for 17 hours (yet)

Good point but that still does not completely explain the fast last segment.  Jeepfleep shows 6:12 but if you use 2.2 it goes to 7:19.  This is still crazy after all he went though.  I am just guessing that the distances are estimates and it is really less than 2.2.
