Hey! I am racing KS70.3 as well! Just signed up earlier this week, since I didn't have my travel plans nailed down until now. Looks like it should be a challenging race- gotta love hills and wind! Is anyone else doing the collegiate race? Did you know they're giving away a free Javelin bike for the M/F winner of the collegiate division? Gotta love that grad school counts

Happy training!

I signed up for the wrong division... if only I was fast enough to win if I did.

Anybody need a room in Lawrence for you or family? We're camping to avoid any problems with traffic or parking. It's at the Holiday Inn and I paid like $80 for it. PM me if you're interested. Thanks y'all.

If you still want to try, you can sign up for collegiate at race day. You still compete in your AG but also compete for your college. Just to warn you, the guy I'm racing with is trying for 4:15-4:30

A stretgically placed bungie might go along way to making this a horserace, if they are going for 4:10-4:15 they could so strong as to not notice the extra weight?

Yes... then I can save my energy to try and hang on during the run, beat him in a sprint to the finish. Perfect plan!

I believe I read reverse age order somewhere.

At IMCali 70.3 this year i didn't see any specific order. I am in the 18-24 and i was right in the middle with the 45-49 AG. All the 30-34 were at the end because there were so many of them. So i'm not sure what their reason is for the order.

Ready, set, commence tapering.

I finished my last long run (just under 2 hours) this morning, and I am ready to start the taper.  I am feeling good, I have done all the work, so give me a little rest, then bring it on.

How is every one else feeling?

T minus 15 days, 18 hours. . .

I've felt better but I'll finish the race. Not as quite as I originally hoped but I'll get there.

Riding the course tomorrow, maybe I'll feel better then. All are welcome to join 8am at the race site.. probably do a little of everything.

I'm doing well, doing a long/hard swim today, long bike tomorrow and long run Sunday...then it's taper time. I think my body has been soundly beat up and will taper very well. Just trying to keep under control...I'm excited!

Is anyone camping at the race?

My training partner most likely has a stress fracture, so I might be traveling on my own for this race. Good news for any other male collegiate athletes, though. Since I'll be by myself for this race, I was hoping to camp, possibly near some other BTers, so I don't get too lonely

So much for Kansas being flat.
People assume the same thing of Nebraska, but anywhere along the river valley is going to be continuous rolling hills.
Should be fun!

whats the total climb on this?

I went out and rode the cource with a friend that is going to be doing the race. took just under 3 hours. for me... im not going to be doing the race this year but look to do it next. I am planing on comming out there and cheering every one on

I came up just shy of 56 earlier today, too. But I also forgot to start my forerunner right when I began cycling. Makes me wonder where the mount line will be as the parking lot presumably for transition has a lot of loose gravel in it.

Not sure where the 3000+ came in with elevation. Check out motionbased.com for what others pulled on the elevation.

It really depends on the satellites and coverage and what not.
