I'm 12.5 weeks out from the Vegas Rock and Roll.

Why don't TANers come do it?  It's Vegas afterall and they close the strip down for you.  It's on TV (locally) and everything.

It was fun the year I did it! But isn't it at night now? Sounds way funner-er-er!

Half or full?

Tis at night!  I'm out of shape so only the half for me.  I considered the full since I tend to be a glutton for punishment, but the thought of 2-3 20  mile training runs makes me nauseous right now.  10-12 mile runs is more palatable.

The strip will be all lit up for the runners!  The casinos like to kick it up a bit for it.

I had Battlefield Earth on in the background last night.  I know why it got 2% on Rotten Tomatoes.  Pretty bad.  A little surprising when John Travolta and Forest Whitaker are in it.  They aren't scrubs.

That does sound fun, but that's a little close to B2B... I'll still be in "holy crap, things I didn't know I had really hurt a lot" mode.

Oh, did I mention I'm doing a 140.6?

Me too. I'm on a 1200 NET calorie a day experiment. Losing weight but feeling super empty.

I watched something on PBS the other night (only half of it but I recorded it).  It was getting good when I had to leave.  What they were finding that instead of a 1200 cal/day, you can fast (how much and how often, I'm not sure).  That actually seems easier.  Eat normally most of the time and then take the day off from eating once in a while.  I that seems easier to me.

I might not have licked the container, but I probably would have used my finger to scrape every last bit of goodness out of the container.

I have no pride, I'd have licked the container for sure, unless it was all small and awkward sized.

$165 for the Vegas RnR??  Zoinks, that's crazy expensive!  And you don't get to swim or bike, either?

I'm doing the Cleveland RnR in October, but I got in on the first day of registration and it was only $50.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas... especially money!

I'll be doing the Vegas RnR HM to join my friend who will be running her 40th HM and hitting her "40 by 40" goal 7 months before her 40th birthday.  Her first HM was in June 2011 and she set out to run "18 in 18 months".  After easily meeting that goal the next target became the "40 by 40", which is looking to be more like "50 by 40" at the rate she does events.  Fortunately for her there are a lot of HM's in and around southern California.

When I "diet" I do all kinds of stuff like that.  If I'm going to eat 250 calories of chips, then all shake the bag and get every crumb out of that bag for my 250 calories.

I had no idea that Chicago was that pricey!!  I knew it was over $100, but I really didn't expect it to be that much.  Then again, I paid £125 to do an Olympic distance race in London.

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.
