Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors: We Will Stalk You (Open)

Since the group has been up for about a week, I thought that I'd post this information.  If we have more plebes join us, I may repost it.

INFO FOR NEW MANATEES

If you haven't figured it out, we talk a lot. :-)  Fasten your seatbelts!  Also, we tend to be an inspiring bunch (as in, we use the "inspire" feature of the site a lot).  If you are not familiar with inspires, note that you can reply to them by clicking Reply.  This pops out a new window for you to type your response so that the original poster can see it.

Finally, most of us use the training log on the site (Yanti said that it's required: "Keeping up your training log here on BT and opening it to other group members is mandatory.").  This makes it a lot easier for us to help each other when training questions come up.   Here's a few shorts article on training logs:  http://running.competitor.com/2013/12/training/why-you-should-keep-... http://www.active.com/triathlon/articles/10-reasons-to-keep-a-train... />
If you list your upcoming races on your training log  -- by adding to My Races or listing them in Dashboard, we'll celebrate with you!

We have a Google+ community that we use on an irregular basis.  Send your info to a returning Manatee (Janyne, Chris, Monica or Darren) and you will be added.

We have a Bike Gallery as well.  Post a picture of your racing steed and draw Chris' attention to it.  He'll get you added.

We have a Strava group too.  Let Chris or Janyne know and we can add you.

Oh, we're on Twitter too...

In the past, someone in the Pod (Yanti, Chris, Janyne) has created a table listing all of the pod members with links to their logs.  Once this handy dandy table has been created, feel free to copy/paste it to your own dashboard.

Please be active!  Inactive Manatees make us sad!

I've been dodging thunderstorms this past week. Summer weather pattern is here for the duration. Makes doing a long ride interesting. Want to do an all day ride this weekend. I have several out and back routes that range from 30 to 70 miles. I prefer doing these. Might have to stick to my 12 mile loop that I sometimes do as I am never more than three miles from home. Am slowly getting used to these blasted orthotics.

Everyone stares these days. I am either exceptionally fit or exceptionally ugly or something like that. Must ponder further on this. Most people tell me I am lying when I tell them my age.

Who knew that this lifestyle would pay off in spades?

Ah.  The weekend of September 27-28th will probably be the changeover.  I mean, it's not like we have three iron distance events that weekend or anything...

I checked logs this morning and if someone doesn't start training, then that number will be smaller. She knows who she is...

Hey now... I kind of resemble that remark!!

I've been doing stuff according to my training plan!  Okay, well I've MOSTLY been doing stuff according to my training plan.  Kind of.

Nice!!  Better than Botox, eh?  Not sure it's necessarily cheaper, but it's definitely better.

Hope the weather cooperates for you this weekend.  Riding a 12-mile loop 5 or 6 times could get a little dull.

Exceptionally fit is incompatible with exceptionally ugly. Something like that would have to be like either one of those, but couldn't be both. Considering that you're fit, I am going to go with the former.

Justifying the new bike could be much more understandable if the old one seems worn out ...

My saddle did in fact blow up 9 days before IMNZ. I really should order a spare now 'cause the one I've got is now also into its 3rd season of iron training ...

The bottom line is that if Tangerines wore her saddle out enough to get a new one, the bike may LOOK deceptively unworn but it's probably time to get a new one.

I bet you weeded the rake right out.

At least Michael doesn't get clubs.  That would hurt.  Unless they're dance clubs, in which case, hearts might be involved, maybe even leading to diamonds.  Are you ready to deck me yet?

Hey new manatees, join in the chatter, we don't bite unless you request biting.  The more the merrier!

Michael - I hear ya on t-storm activity/summer weather patterns.  It has arrived here as well.  Hope you find a safe way to get your longer rides in that don't bore you to tears.

Surprisingly, it's more than 2/3 done (according to the pics I've set aside for it, more than 2/3 of which have been placed into the RR format and written around.)

That is in fact 12 due race reports back (this weekend will make 13)! Yeah. I'm a little behind. But the pictures are awesome! For all of them!

Now I gotta go back and read what I wrote so far ...

Lol!  Totally busted!!

Actually, with the exception of a few longer swims (which is tough to do when trying to squeeze them in over a lunch hour) I'm doing exactly what my plan calls for right now.  So, I'm right on track... mostly.

Absolutely keep me accountable!  I could always use a kick in the gluteal region to keep me going!

I blame it on Ironman Training. I think I killed some brain cells during those hard months of training. My brain just hasn't quite worked as well since

Does anyone on here use TrainerRoad?  I know a guy who's an ambassador who can get me the first month free.  I think it will probably do well in driving good results.  Thoughts?
