Champion 7163 Verona WI--Ironman Bike Country! | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN fast, furious, and closed Woo-Hoo for Brent! Awesome work out there and I don't care how many people participated in it! Three cheers for my good friend Dino too!!!! I got to the expo to check in and the line was out of control. I called Dino and he was three people from the front. My 26" inseam never moved so fast. Gave him a hug like he was my husband and I was in! Two cheers for Lake Michigan! While it isn't warm, it isn't the ice bath I was expecting it to be. Fairly calm for a Great Lake too. Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but this was a huge mental boost for me. They're still expecting the same oppresive heat, but that's life...I'm ready to roll the dice and I am looking for lucky 5! One cheer for seeing Jeremy! Some of you may remember him from our earlier MG days. He looks fit as a fiddle and ready to do some serious damage to the course. That's it... |

Veteran 200 | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN fast, furious, and closed tahrens - 2011-07-15 9:16 AM It must be the month of flat tires. I got my first flat in 5 years last weekend. Big nail punctured right down to the wheel tape. Although listening to Steve's story I might need to start carrying multiple CO2 cartridges. It seems like the whole MG is racing this weekend. Good luck to everyone. I get to experience my first training endurance brick (68miles followed by a 9 mile run immediately off the bike). Believe it or not that actually sounds like a light weekend compared to century rides. Of course talk to me afterwards and I'm sure I"ll be singing a different tune. As far as pre-race routines I try to listen to music to get a good song in my head for the race. However that never seems to work. No matter what I do I end up with dumb songs like "Elvira" or "100 bottle of beer on the wall) stuck in my head. Quite annoying. It must be!! I got my 1st with this bike on the way home from my ride Tuesday and it was the 1st time I changed a tube since my BMX bike days, getting the tire off wasn't too bad bu getting it back on was HELL!! but its a good thing I got the practice because I flatted today while on a long ride and the repair wasn't the fastest but much improved |

Master 1478 Horseheads, NY | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN fast, furious, and closed Kris and Tommy raced today. They both did great. Kris cut ~4 min off her time from last year and felt really good about her race. Tommy was 3rd out of the water on the swim but then got caught with his bike in a cluster that was T1. He roade hard and ran hard and had fun. Thanks for the stripper advice! No tracking at my race so you might have to wait for the RR for results! |

Expert 1038 Noosa | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN fast, furious, and closed Had an interesting Half Marathon this morning, weather cleared up overnight and it's beautiful with clear sky and flat blue ocean again. The run went along the ocean front for 10km then back so had a lot of time to gaze out across the bay. I developed a really bad aching pain in my left knee and nearly had to quit at 11km but managed to get though it to finish in 1hr 49. RR is done but I can't get it to finalise yet, think it's because of the time difference, I'll try again tomorrow. |
