5:45am, off for my 2 hr ride so I can meet Sam at 8:00ish at the soccer fields so I can change and coach my sons game at 8:30.  LOL, it's crazy what we do sometimes to get our workouts in.

I was thinking the same thing. Out the door at 6am for a 2 hour ride/30 minute brick so I can be back here in time to get on the boat with the man and some friends.  Not as stressful as your day, but crazy nonetheless.

Totally!!! Obviously I can't change race start, but post-race I have an easy ride and then will be meeting the family at son's baseball game. Dad's got both kids at a swim clinic before that. We're ALL looking forward to relaxing this afternoon! May the sun shine... And Tony, good luck with your son's game!

Hi guys.  Sorry I've been gone.  Just crazy busy and that's not about to change.  I do come lurk for a second or two a day but not long enough to form a thought.

Kayla, consider the conditions and race a crash course in mental training.  Hopefully you won't need it later.

Trevor- Awesome Pic! Treasure it.  They get big and sassy so fast. LOL...

John- saw your post about Bridgeland.  It's about time.

Have a good weekend!

thanks bike peeps!

chain is stretched more than an inch.  and it appears it is the housing/and or cable on the front brake thats causing the issue.   good thing about wrecking a brand new bike is i have all the goods to replace what need to be replaced.  i remembered i had all the parts in a box in the garage last night.  so i'll change then up today, or try to anyways. ;-

a few miles into my ride this morning i stopped for something, can't remember what.  looked down at my front tire and noticed a 1/4" gash in it. figured i'd be ok on it.  a mile or so later i just got a real bad feeling about it.  so i went back to the truck and took it by the shop and yeah its shot.  maybe 50 miles on the thing.   well, at least i can use it on the trainer.

hope everyone is having a great weekend and all our racers are kicking a$$!!!!!

soon you'll have a completely tuned up bike!

This AM was supposed to do 15 min at 90% of FTP, 15 minutes spinning, rinse, repeat.

After about an hour in I realized that if I kept going the path I had mapped out there was no way in he!! I was going to make the soccer game.  Luckilly I brought my BB and planned out the fastest route to the field.  LOL, riding on a 4 lane road was lots of fun.  Was probably riding a good portion of the way back way over FTP trying to make sure I wasn't late.

Got to the game right at 8:30, Sam was getting ready to coach (I should have stayed back and watched that carnage...)

Hopped off the bike, Sam saw me and ran over with my shirt and shoes, kids all giggled when I changed shirts, and coached the game wearing my bike shorts and soccer shirt.

Thank god for GPS.

LOL, then off to my daughters soccer practice, then Sam dropped the boy and I off at home so she and girl could go to a 90 minute outdoor birthday party (it's 90 with 90% humidity out now), and she still has a 90 minute run to get in.  Definitely burning the candle at both ends today.

Hope all the racers are doing well.  Can't wait to hear how everyone does.

Gee, given all that craziness I hope you had time to ingest your favorite recovery drink.....

My ride and run went well....off to boat for the rest of the day.

Fingers crossed for today's and tomorrow's racing peeps!

Raced today.  1st in AG, 5th OA female.
Don't have splits, but it was fun...minus one little tumble (well, my son laughs and says it was huge).  Smile
They thought Mom being airborne was cool.  I'll do a race report when I can.

My friend from high school did it with me...it was her first tri.  I'm so proud of her.
Hung out with Doug some too, that was nice.

I'm taking this as a start of my season and incentive for training.
Oh, and I learned be aware of others, but really know where you are and what your feet are doing.

Everyone else that raced let us hear from you...all others racing tomorrow - Good luck!

Quickie quickie... No results yet. Dunno my swim time cuz I didn't time it. I put bike/run in my blog -- run was short. Bike was decent, not sure how my pace compares to when I raced this 2 years ago (I did have one mile with a 27.48 average -- woot!). Legs felt tired tired tired dead dead. On the run I felt like my HR was pretty low -- it was higher when I did my half mary a few weeks go. No need pain = success. Mud, wet, but the weather was dry.

Straight to a baseball game, now home and doing a one-hour ride before taking the kiddos to the pool for the afternoon (it's sunny!!!). Will send along results when they're posted.

Feel bad for Keith, they had to cancel the swim at the Mooseman Oly today, bad thunderstorms and tornado warnings...

Same RD as Lonestar where they had to cancel the swim at the Oly/Sprint

Holy Smokes!!!   Incredible racing from our MG'ers!!!  Goodness gracious, you guys/gals sure do set the bar high

Just looking longingly outside my window at work while everyone walks by in shorts and tanks...only one more hour and I am free.  Driving up to race (about 2 hours away) a little later tonight but wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing!  Looks like everyone is doing great!

Go Swbkrun'ers!!!!

Unless they had a 1:1 ratio of lifeguards to swimmers, it was the right decision at LS....  All the newbies in the sprint would have been in big trouble with those whitecaps...

I did my first tri for the season, 4th in AG with only 5 gears to ride the hills of the Appalacian mountains!  I had to come out of the saddle a lot! My bike won't shift to the big cog or little cog so I took it to the LBS right after the race to have a new chain put on, hope it helps.  I had fun with 2 people from my tri club and I met a lot of nice people too.  Smile

Congrats to all the tough MG racers, you are amazing!

Nice job!  Didn't even let a little mechanical problem hold you back!  That's the swbkrun MG way!
