Yay, I have a date with the person my friend (the Rabbi's wife) wanted me to meet. Sounds like we have a lot in common, she's another refugee from the corporate management world who burned out and is doing something completely different.

I hope she's attracted to carbon.

I just had to post today's experience. I get a message from "Toyman" this morning. It says:
Wow! U look great!

I ignore it.

Tonight, I get another message from "Toyman." It also says,
Wow! U look great!

Seriously? Think he just blanket sends that message to everyone? At least remember who you sent it to, dude.

Ugh.

On the other hand, did I mention how totally amazing my date was on Friday with rock climber boy?

^^  a few of my dealbreakers:  guys posing with fish, cars, deer, or motorcycles.

I got winked at this morning by a WOMAN posing with a deer. First thing I thought of was this thread; it was a good laugh to start the day

@DeannaS - Wow! U look great!

i like the protecting the fine china comment! Comes in handy when I fall off my bike or horse!

I think your best bet is to put multiple pictures, so there is no question.  Some men dig muscles and curves, and others want only the size 0 or 2 (or as I usually see it written, petite.  When in all actuality, petite only means short).  We'd almost be better with sizes than body type.

This is the key, just make sure they are current pictures and include a couple of full body pics.  I imagine this would apply to the guys also.  I'm assuming you ladies have shown up on dates with guys that looked fit in their pics, then you saw their huge beer gut hanging over their pants.

Yessss. Current pics please, friends!
Too many times I see pictures with actual date stamps in the corner from 2005, 2006, 2007... really? More than 5 years old?

I understand we all want to put our best foot/face forward. You want to make yourself look good. But maybe if you don't have any "good" photos that are current... next time you go out on the town, have a friend snap a pic of you! There you go! You look great, and it's current! :)

Yep.  EVERYONE has, or knows someone that has, at least a cell phone camera.  No excuse for a non current photo! And please .. no more fish in your pics guys.  k?  Please?

^^  a few of my dealbreakers:  guys posing with fish, cars, deer, or motorcycles.  Oh and bathroom shots. Sorry, but not ever. ever ever!  You know what that says to me? you have no friends to take your picture!

It's worse if they just post pics of fish, cars, or motorcycles in their profiles and they are not even in the pic!!!

I assume that if your pic has a car in it, that the car is YOU  and that you are really a transformer.

Hey now, I'm having a blast with the online dating thing. I just don't think you can take it (or yourself) too seriously.

That was the hardest part deciding on another pup due to all the traveling I do...myMom takes care of my chihuaha and I know she will fall in love wih this little girl so in time she can help with both we have a super nice kennel for emergencies. Really wanted a pup I could train to run with me my 3 pound chihuau makes it about a half mile and then I have to carry him the rest hahaha and lately I can't even take him cause a short run is 8-14 miles. Will start the pup out slow and in within a couple years am sure she will be able to hang with me on my shorter runs. She is precious!!

Isn't the point to find a companion and a match not to play games?

I'm not playing games. I'm completely honest with everyone I meet. I have a kid, a job, great friends, and a full life. I'm not in a position to find a "life partner," (my kiddo is so not ready for that) but I am in a position to go out and have some fun. I state right in my profile that I'm looking for "new friends" and "activity partners." I reiterate that when I meet people.

All that being said, if I met the "perfect for me" person, it's entirely possible that more could develop. But, I'm not out there looking for it. I'm out there looking to get the needs I have now met - which are male companionship, band-watching buddy, etc. - not "love of my life."

I too am not looking for a life partner just someone that would enjoy biking and running with me cause in my spare time it's pretty much spent training for ultras - most that claim to be extreme active walk a couple times a week or ride a harley hehe

I always thought of myself as a bit more Gaston than Prince Charming anyways

I hate that.  People don't seem to understand what "active" means.  If your heart rate doesn't get up and you don't sweat....it doesn't count.  There is a difference in going for a walk (stroll) and "walking", and there is a big difference between walking and running.
