enders_shadow - 2012-10-30 8:00 AM I don't think anyone has jumped in with one yet today... Mini-Challenge! STRETCH! Spend at least 10 minutes stretching - your choice...yoga, stretching, PT, rolling, whatever your body needs to be ready for your next workout. I'm selfish - my knee is a little funky, so I'm going to give it some love later today. That way I'll meet the mini-challenge.

I spend about 15 minutes a day stretching, especially the glutes ( medius glute specifically )

Not only is it a classic problem for runners, but since my horrible accident, my left gluteus medius still has yet to get to 100% so I am pushing it with exercises and stretching daily!! :D

I take the chance to do some other stretching at the same time.

That being said, I had a great day yesterday!!  We tried a vegetable based pasta i bought by accident that was mixed in with the whole wheat stuff.  It turned out great!!

I hit the pool, the weights and the trainer for an hour!!!!  LOADS of hydration too!! :D

Not bringing ANY crap in the house since I have a BAD dietary weakness to junk food if it's in the house, but I can resist buying it no problem :p

Did a short strength workout this morning before I went to my dentist appointment. No cavities!

I went to my weekly weigh in at Weight Watchers and was up one pound. I'm not happy about it, but I felt that I had a good week, so nothing to do but more onward. I only weigh myself once a week so who knows. Not sure how good next week will look since I'm going on vacation to San Francisco Friday - Monday and then I'll weigh in Tuesday. I'm feeling good overall, so that's a plus.

Workouts have been slacking, but nutrition has been mostly-on ... some donuts yesterday morning, but I rearranged the rest of my food for the day to make room for those calories.

I've got a 10-mile race coming up here in about 1.5 weeks ... I probably ought to get out there and run, eh?    Or - as the case may be - get on the treadmill and run.  Here in the midwest we don't have the same Sandy problems as those on the east coast, but the high winds sure do make doing anything outside difficult.

Did 2k yards in the pool this morning, 40 mins of upper body and some core strength training. Lots of paperwork to do, a research project and a 7-8mi run today with a group... Probably a tempo run. Trying to figure out lunch I'm doing boiled eggs right now for later this week and just had a can of tuna with mustard/lite mayo. Dunno!

So far I've managed to convince myself that plastic-wrapped stale little candy-bars are not worth my calories. Now...when we get to the fresh baked pasty goodies, I'm not sure I will be able to be so strong. I want. Want. WANT. some of the pastry nummies I have seen...pumpkin this, pumpkin that.

Step away from the trick-or-treat bag!

ahhh that is right. In Canada we are lucky, we have already gone through thanksgiving. No temptation until Christmas parties.

Just had to brag about my meal!!!  First I COOKED!!!  I know amazing, right?!

Anyway it was clean-paleo "spaghetti and meat sauce"!

Boiled a spaghetti squash yesterday and scooped it all out and also browned a bunch of ground turkey.  Today I cooked 2 pieces of bacon and then in the bacon fat, sauté an onion and some garlic and added in 2 small cans of tomato paste with oregano and chili powder, a bit of water to thin it out. (I know canned sauce is easy, but there is sooooo much sodium in those) Reheated some of the spaghetti squash and some ground turkey in the microwave and then added in the sauce....sooo yummy!!

Of course I have leftovers so that will be lunch for tomorrow.  I'm so proud of myself! I completely winged this, no recipe!  Next time I will add some more veggies for the sauce, but I'm so impressed it came out so well! LOL

Food was pretty good today, although I am indulging in a couple of glasses of Chadonnay.

Got a 2000 yard swim in on lunch hour, then this evening tried out Judi's The 100 Workout. Only attempted one round of it and definitely will be feeling it tomorrow.  Then added in 10 minutes of yoga and 10 minutes of foam roller, so met both Mini Challenges today.

Now to kick back and listen to the wind outside. We are fortunate to be just on the edge of Sandy and are only experiencing high winds and cold temps.
