So very happy to see Team Hoyt finish their final Boston Marathon, and for Scott Menzies to finish what his wife was tragically not able to, and yet she has inspired people around the globe.

I whole heatedly agree!!!

That is super suckage--possible to suck it up over 5K/10K/half but to push through BOSTON that way? Oy! Way to surmount the suckage, CONSPANKULATIONS SALTY!!!

Oh Adrienne!  I am so sorry to hear that you were not feeling 100% yesterday.  That makes your feat even more amazing!

YOU ROCK!

Short answer, no.  I say this mostly because while a 10 mile run may be on the schedule that weekend, a race effort is not.  This is assuming that the HIM is your A race for the fall.  If you are on the fence about doing the HIM and feel more comfortable going with the run as your A race, then by all means, do that!

Wow - you're seriously kickazz!  I'd need a motor to go that fast no matter if I was feeling under the weather or not!

Salty, I know you were looking forward to a good race from Ryan Hall, but he didn't seem to have his A game on Monday. However, it seems like he was instumental in the outcome:

We consistently say DOOO EEEETTTTT!!! So how helpful can we really be?

I have a question for you, my friend. I have heard about a 5K that is being run on Mother's Day:

https://www.facebook.com/events/266251750218036/

I don't know if you are doing it or not, but I'm probably going to do it solo and think about my family members and friends. So, who is in on this?

Thanks for being so sweet, all. The bonus to not running a marathon to your potential is the ability to walk and sit on a toilet like a human being the day after!

I will check with the USO here and see if they are planning anything. Sounds like a great run.

Hey now... We're kind of tough!!  Actually, no - we're not, but we like to pretend that we are!

The ice cream is going to be AWESOME!!!  The guys also got me a really nice card for me & put some cash in it... they were going to try and sign me up for HBO without me knowing so that I would have some knowledge of what's going on when they talk about Game of Thrones, but they couldn't figure out how to do it without stealing my identity.  I thanked them for not doing something illegal.

My folks go crazy over cake, I can only imagine what they'd do for ice cream!  I do take them out for lunch and give them gift cards, so I'm not a total slacker

Mmmmmmm, Ben & Jerry's...

The closest food treat I've got going on today is cookies (big) and milk at the faculty and staff meeting this afternoon, made fresh from Chocolate World...not quite ice cream but it'll do!   It's really the main reason I, and many others, attend that meeting.

It's Staff Appreciation Week?  Evidently not around here.  I do work in a pretty good office, though, so I can't complain too much.  Except for the staff meeting that I had to schedule for 11:30-1 today.  No snacks planned.  To get me through, I'm having the "healthy" snack of a diet coke, clif bar....and pumpkin chocolate chip bread.

Believe me, it's the first time I've EVER experienced something like this... and it's AWESOME!  :D

I'm really not a fan of chocolate, but pumpkin anything is delicious!

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
