sarahk - 2011-06-25 10:04 AM Anyone know if any mango is actually in the mango-flavored Perform, or is it just artificial flavoring.  Deathly allergic to mango here.  Surprised

Avoid it either way.  Tastes like poo.  The lemon-lime is tolerable however.

Was packing up the transition bags this AM when I noticed one of my cleats was broken (must have cracked on my pre ride yesterday as it was good the day before).  Several frantic calls to local bike stores later I had a replacement set.  Let's home that's the end of the drama for the day.

Good luck to everyone out there tomorrow.  Have a great race!

I also had a little drama today. Went for bike check ride and it wasn't shifting right. Took it to service in IM village and worked great on stand but not on road. Ended up taking it to LBS and is doing better. Both guys said slightly bent derailer YIKES! Adjusted it - no replacement so am going to be on pins and needles using a couple of my gears tomorrow. Glad you noticed the cleat today. Whew!

Yikes! I'm glad you all went on bike check rides today and fixed the problems! I've had a few bent derailleurs in the past. Usually they work great after I have my LBS bend it back. Fingers crossed that the water is calm, the bikes are sound, and the weather is perfect! Like they said at the athlete dinner last night "You WILL do this!"

It must be that kind of day. Woke up to my BFF's (Sherpa) flight being cancelled and had to scramble to get her rerouted. Then spent the morning doing an art project Before I knew it it was Noon and we needed to hurry down and check in the bags and bike and grab my friend from the airport.

As we're driving to the airport I realize all I've eaten is a banana and an Uncrustable and I'm starving. Not good! We head into Spokane to grab lunch and found our way in the midst of the sheer madness that is HoopFest. Cluster doesn't even cover it.

Did my best to walk very little from car to restaurant and am now safely back on my bed watching TV and going over my lists for tomorrow.

Sleep Well everyone and Be Safe out there!

Ah, yes...Uncrustables!  Love those things during an IM!

Best of luck to all of you racing tomorrow.  Hope you sleep well, the wind is calm in the morning, and it warms up to about 72 with a light breeze on the run.  Not too much to ask for you is it??    Hope to see you during the race to lend a little vocal encouragement.

Dad and I had a quick shakedown ride out to the turnaround and back...had some d-bags spray us with water from their truck as they drove past. Did a brief swim after bike/bag check-in and the water felt great to me. Nerves are stRting to kick in a bit, but I'm ready to get it on. Good luck to everybody!

Took the fam to Mr. Popper's Penguins this afternoon, now feet are up on the bed. Need to mix nutrition bottles and do some last-minute checks, but otherwise feeling very relaxed and zen. Wishing the lake warms up a bit, but it is what it is and it's the same for us all. May the bikes run well with no mechanical issues, and may the bods run well with no mechanical issues. Happy IM'ing, everyone!! See you on the other side!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aw shucks you guys... is this some sort of last minute conspiracy to make me slap down the plastic and get on that plane?!?!?!  Truth be told you guys did the hard work while I sat here and played arm-chair QB.  I guess that's allowed when you've actually been a semi-successful QB in a former life, so I'm glad most of you didn't mind (I seem to recall rufflin' a few feathers).

It was 100% the right thing for me to drop out of this race and focus on some non-sports health issues, and my life is more balanced and I'm overall more healthy today because of it, despite being a few pounds heavier... plus seeing that shrink every week this whole year made even IM NYC look cheap!  But requesting that [partial] refund didn't exactly feel good (I'm told the right thing rarely does), and I've been living vicariously through the HB badazznezz in this thread so evidently displayed by you all.

In fact, I owe you guys some thanks because this was an experiment in "giving back" which I am trying to do in a number of areas of my life where in the past it had become dangerously overly self-involved (unofficial BT IMCdA coach, volunteering at a substance abuse recovery group, etc, driving someone to/from harrisburg/baltimore for an every-other-week appointment they otherwise couldn't make, etc)... and you guys made it easy and enjoyable.  So thanks for helping me along my own journey, even if lining up on the start line wasn't part of it this year.  I have little doubt that someday soon I'll be racing along side of a few of you somewhere.

Group hug (always dangerous with a bunch of HBs).

Make no mistake -- you'll be doing the race this year.  You'll be with me the whole way.  Thanks for everything Josh!  Give me a shout if you ever head out to Boulder.  Best to you, Cam.

Congrats to you, Josh, for paying forward!  You'll be with me on the course tomorrow too!!  Thank you.

Spent the day getting ultrasound, laser treatment, and a massage as I torched my rotator cuff during the practice swim Friday. Now I can at least lift my arm over my shoulder but I see a long, cold swim tomorrow. How long do you think it will take to doggie paddle 2.4?

Yikes - you are so fast on the bike and run, I think you can totally survive the swim. Breast stroke kick and short doggie strokes and just take it buoy to buoy.

You can do it!

Have a great day tomorrow, everyone. This group has put together an epic race thread, now go out and create an epic race!

By the way, the results pages are available, showing what the splits will be. Looks like run will be four pretty even splits, bike just twice at the turnaround plus biike finish.
