Subject: RE: Team TestosterbonesI thought "Two more days, 90-few miles to go... It's not going to happen. I'm done." Then, an amazing thing happened. All of a sudden didn't care any more and I wasn't getting myself all worked up about it.
Take things in stride. Extra stress never really helped anything. Good for you.
If I make it cool, if not, well sorry, I tried my best and I CHALLENGED myself - that's the point of all of this, isn't it?
Trying your best is an expectation, setting a milage target and hitting it was the goal. Another goal was to improve each person's cycling/endurance, have consistent training, focus on the bike, etc. So, even if one does not hit one goal, they make have hit a few others.
One can learn something from not hitting a goal.
I'm gonna go ride 40+ miles in RealFeel temp of 96F (yeah, woo hoo. Yippe .. and whatever other sarcastic remark I can make ), so I can hit my goal and be done with it. It's strange, but I'll be more relieved when it's over than i will be proud of hitting the mark. The biggest thing I have learned is my frequency-volume-duration tolerance for the bike. It's making me take a realistic look at whether I'll be able to prepare/train for an IM. 1/2IM may be my ideal distance.
Anyway, I'm off to ride a new course on a beautiful sunny day. The skeptic in me wants to point out that it's 86F w/ 66% humidity for a RealFeel temp of 96F ... but this is the day God gave me, I'm gonna go enjoy it.
