I'm holding steady... 140.  I found a better 9pt way of measuring %BF but now my new baseline is 18.5%

I need to refocus.  I've been cooking up a storm to make meals for a friend going through chemo and so it's easier for me to just eat it too... lots of carbs and not enough veggies.  Also like Laura - wine every day.  This week is REFOCUS - veggies & no booze!!!

Good luck everyone!

Morning all. Spent the weekend on the Cape without free wifi so I am just catching up. Congrats to those who lost weight last week. Welcome Anne and a belated happy birthday to Bill. My eating was off track a bit. Yesterday in particular as there was no food in the house when I got home at 6:30 so take out was delivered. High salt and fat and not really that good. I know I gained from last week. Just glad the damage wasn't too bad. Back on track today. Two more weeks of building volume before my HIM so I hope to see some progress weight wise although I often find I lose more when I have lower volume. Weird. Have a great day all!

Down another 1.4 lbs and 1.2% bf for the week.

Total for challenge: 4.4 lbs and 4.1% bf

Celebrated a little too much by taking two off days in a row.  Yikes.  Back on track today!!!

Congrats to tnickerson on the loss, great job!

Well, I dusted off my Taylor Body-Fat-Calculating scale and fired it up. This thing got good reviews which is why I bought it, but all it gives me is grief. It is so stinking tempermental, I was ready to throw it out the window. blow upBut eventually it worked and I came up with the following numbers:

Weight on 8/16:  160 lbs

Body Fat %: 23% (seems low so the scale is probably not working right)

My goal is 150 pounds and lower body fat % just a bit.

Jumped on the scale today and it said 118lb..Down 1.5lbs    YAY for me.  For me the key is to log everything I eat.   Its hard for to scale back on those days that I am not working out

Hi all! I'm back from Vegas having finished my first ultra marathon. Glad to have done it, but I will never do a midnight start again... I love the scenery on the run and not much scenery to see in the dark. It made it very mentally tough for me, sort of like being on a treadmill. Good news is that I finished, had a blast in Vegas and Nevada is checked off my list

Weighed in this morning at 153.8, but I know it's a bit high from my usual post race water retention. Body fat number was down a bit to 38.5. I expect my weight will drop a few pounds in the next couple days. I definitely cut myself a lot of slack on nutrition over the weekend while in Vegas, but got right back on plan yesterday and with the race and tons of walking I don't think I did too much damage.

Bill- Happy belated birthday! Hope it was a great one!

Anne- Welcome!

Congrats to everyone who is losing and sticking with their plans! Great job to everyone for striving on!

I just did my measurements... since the beginning of the challenge I have lost 1" off my waist, .75" off my thigh and .5" from both my hips and chest! Yay!!!

Bill- I'm working on the RR now. I'll post it when I'm done, but fair warning... it will be long, lol.

Saw 180 2x on the scale this week.  I think this mornings is from a loss of blood!

Took a major over the handlebars biff on the cross bike at a practice session last night.  This happened about half way through the session - I cleaned up, finished, and rode home still

I am sure I will be sore for a while after this one - feels like I hit a mack truck but you should see the ground where I landed - it took the worst of it LOL

Yikes!!  Speedy healing!

Must be something in the air... demonstrating that I am the embodiment of grace, I tripped while running last night and bloodied up my knee.  As I'm running with blood dripping down my leg, I was thinking, "Yea, I'm hardcore... a dork, but hardcore..."

Oh man, I hope you are feeling better (or at the least, functioning).  I went over the handlebars once while "mountain" biking with a friend earlier this year.  In a rare moment of grace, I somehow landed softly and spared the ground any major disturbance (that and maybe the soils in Missouri are softer).  Still, not a fun experience.  Speedy recovery!

Now that I realize that at least three of us have cross bikes, is there anyone here that has done a cyclocross?  If so, I was thinking about finding one and giving it a shot, but I really don't know much about them.  Any info would be appreciated.

They are a blast.  High Threshold type of race - you basically go as long and as hard as you can.  Big time fun

You can youtube some videos to see how to mount/dismount/barrier jump like the pros or just wing it like I do

Being in a college town I would think there would be a lot around you and plus you have KC and STL not that far away also!

How is the riding in Columbia?  I have only ever driven through it.

Columbia has a great mix of trails.  There are the MKT and Katy trails that are rails-to-trails that run from KC to STL (MKT connects Columbia to the Katy trail), and there are many parks around that have bike trails, biking lanes on roads, etc.

Do you go clipless on those courses with all of that jumping on and off or do you switch out the bike shoes for tennis shoes?

Congrats - what are you doing running the boys through their summer workouts to get them in shape for the upcoming season????  Keep it up!!!

I gotta start watching tv again.  I'm so out of touch with what's going on and the season starts in just a couple of weeks!

Glad you're okay.  You're such a badass!

Hey there Bill.

It is indeed quiet here. I have been out of town so I am trying to catch up at work. Hopefully I'll be able to spend some more time tomorrow.

You still achy from your flying attempt?
