Her run is going pretty darn good.  She's nearing the finish.  Two more splits

Fred, as for the back, lumbar support and take frequent rest stops and stretch. Also, when you're driving, do abdominal contraction exercises. It sounds weird, but having gone through L5-S1 herniation and then lamenectomy surgery, it worked for me.

And a favor for all the MT racers, can you all please post your race numbers so I can punch them into my IronTrac app. I need to keep an eye on the USA vs "C eh N eh D eh" battle.

Ok bib #

Team USA
863 - Fred D (Fred)
471 - BrotherTri (James)

Team CN
2035 - axteraa (Arend)
446 - marcag (Marc)

By the way, that's not my bib number I am 395 and went 4:53;21

Team Canada for the win !!!!!!!

Great race guys, everyone finished safely.

Ouch.

Great work everyone!  I saw Marc and Fred out on the run but missed James.  I'm pretty happy with the result, lots of suffering in the last 5k when we got back into the hills.

Poutine and chocolate chip cookies as recovery.  There was beer but I wasn't too sure about taking something carbonated so I skipped that.

Awesome!! Did Fred and Marc start in the same swim wave? If so, they had a fun finish.

Terrific times.

USA! USA! US..... Wait, er... What? That's ok, I am double or nothing on team USA winning the post-race beer drinking competition. I figure the two boys from Pennselvania can take the other two, even if they are from Canada..... Awesome racing everyone - absolutely cannot WAIT to read all about it

Seriously?  Your betting against Canadians at beer?  That'd be a sucker bet...I'm going with Canada on that one.

Originally posted by Fred D Will post more in the next few days but suffice to say I'm ecstatic about my race. Breakout race for Arend as well and very impressed with James' run as well today. Had a blast and FYI James and I are signing up for next year. Would highly recommend this race to all of you fine folks. Would also like to try a double or nothing on the Canada USA bet again ;-). Today brought back the joy in racing for me for the first time in almost 2 years!

It really is an incredible venue, I also highly recommend it!

Fred, your last statement about the joy of racing makes me smile.

The off-season is the best time to fine tune your skills and prepare yourself for the next season. It is also time for you to gain some strength and get a little rest after a long season of training.

If you develop a strategy for the off-season, you can go into the next season stronger than you ended the past season.
