Run:7h 42m 09s - 83.65 Mi Vegas half? I had a good unplanned workout today. I was supposed to be going to a very exciting and greatly anticipated athletic event today but it got canceled a the last minute. What a PO. So I got on my bike road a 25 K warm up and then ran 16 K. Not a lot for some of you IM trainees but good for me. Ah Rob, IT'S JUST GOOD PERIOD! No selling yourself Mr. Canada! Yeah! What she said, Rob!John, bring the family to Disneyworld in January and get Goofy!About to head back up north for a seven hour drive...as i queried Suzy, I'm not sure which is harder, a seven hour car drive or bike ride! Focus! *points to eyes with the peace sign!*. Bike ride, for sure! You can eat all the crap you want on a road trip!!! Great job to everyone this weekend. Survived a weekend in the woods with my fam and about 25 of our closest friends (7 families total). Even did an OWS in freezing cold Baker Lake (glacial run-off). The dudes told me they'd give me a dollar if I swam out to this second log. So I did. Probably about 200-300 yards out. No wetsuit. Cold to start, not horrible. About 150 yards out, temp dropped about 15 degrees, it felt like, and my breath left my body. Questioned my sanity but hey, they were gonna pay me $1!! So I persevered. On the way back, my son greeted me at the first log. His first OWS!! He really wanted to swim to the 2nd but I wouldn't let him. No body fat on that kid, no wetsuit, not gonna monkey around in cold water. Decompress, unpack (dry out tent and chairs after this morning's rain), laundry, pack up the kids to ship 'em off to my folks house, then off I go to Grand Cayman. Training? What training??!! |
