Anyone know how much they can take-in suits?

I figure it is really time since the 2nd person in a few weeks mentioned to me today that when I wear my suits now I look like Tom Hanks in big at the end when he shrinks back down to kid size.

If I have to replace all my suits it's going to get expensive.

Yeah nice problem to have but I would rather spend that money on cool bike stuff.

Well, they can take in quite a bit (couple of inches) but it doesn't necessarily look good afterwards.  Find a good tailor and talk to him about it.  Maybe they will give you a volume discount

the lady who does mine says max 2 inches or it will look funny.

If you're ever in Hong Kong you can get tailored suits with high end fabric for around $200, sometimes less.  You can't beat the price, my guy in Hong Kong just remeasured me and I bought a few new suits.  Now when I need suits or shirts I email him the fabric numbers I want from his website and he mails back a tailored suit or shirt (he has all the measurements on computer).  I once even took in my favorite tailored suit from Barneys and he replicated it for less than 1/10th of the price.  If you want the website let me know, I've been going to him for 8 yrs.

I might take you up on that, I think they will all need to be more than 2 inches..

LOL, they are a few years old so probably not in style much anymore, though no one in the gov't would notice since mine were bought in the last 15 years, while theirs are usually older than I am...

This is the website http://www.jantzentailor.com..  They're pretty nice..  they have directions on how to measure yourself.  My recommendation is if you order a shirt, do a trial order first (1 shirt) and make sure that you measured yourself correctly or you go to a professional tailor and have them measure you.  Last time I had anything shipped, a tailored shirt delivered was around $45 USD.  Also they have a ton of suiting fabric not on their website, if you don't like anything on their site you can ask them to email pics of other fabrics.

So who's responsible for tallying up the VT?   I believe we agreed it would take filling in all three disciplines to be considered a participant, right?

PS Would the responsible party be willing to say who won each discipline too?

Not sure we agreed to that, I thought the original plan was race what you could, some couldn't run due to injury so they were only biking and swimming.

Does everyone have their time in?  Like I said earlier it's all our race so we can extend as needed if there is someone that didn't get a chance to put times in.

Is every one OK if I do a 7:40 average for the run part? I averaged 7:33 at my race, but it ended up being short. I figure give myself a small penalty and I'd know I'm capable of doing a 5K with a 7:40 average (I did one earlier this year with a 7:23 average, back before my legs were trashed week after week after week!). If that's cool then I'll update my times. I ain't gonna go out and zip out a speedy 3-mile run at this point, it just isn't gonna happen.

Was just looking through the guy's results... Some guy named STEVE is entered TWICE with a 5:49 swim each time, and a :31 bike time that is within 4 seconds of itself both times. We do not have two Steves who swim the exact same speed and ride nearly identically, and who both have skipped the run as of now, do we?? Me thinks the male average may be off with this double entry????
