Thanks for all of your support everyone, and I agree that the little brat should race in my place. See/talk to you all next year and good luck on Sunday. Really show everyone what BTers can do! You all have trained so hard and put in so much time/energy that no matter what time you finish in, you have accomplished something amazing.

Why hasn't Dodgersmom posted the weather report yet??  I need my weather-day obsession fix!!

I just went the Eagleman site and saw the clock countdown and it gave me a chill

There are  5 days left until race day

Freaking out... who's freaking out.  You freaking out?  I'm certainly not freaking out.  Everything is fine here.

I prefer weather.com:

Sun Jun 14
Partly Cloudy
high 78°
low 65°
20% chance of precip

or accuweather:

Sunday, Jun 14
High: 79 °F RealFeel®: 81 °F
Times of clouds and sun with a shower or thunderstorm possible

And, yes....I am getting a bit antsy....

No freaking out here either.  I swear I don't see/hear any freaking out.  At work today, I spent most of the day planning my driving directions, reviewing the Eagleman website, and checking out the pictures of the hotel, but that is not obsessing.

Depends on if the family is going to the beach or not.  If so, then Friday evening in Bethany.  If not, then just me on Saturday afternoon.  Still want to get together regardless (to drop off to you guys your beer).

I'm planning on leaving my place after rush hour on Friday morning.  I'll probably arrive in Cambridge around 1:00 pm.  I am also planning on jumping in the river on Saturday.

Our flight leaves at an insanely stupid time Friday morning.  Spending the day in B'more with the FIL.

Heading over the bridge Saturday morning after a mandatory breakfast stop at Double T.  I miss Maryland diners.

Want to get in the water Saturday too!

Me??

I'm tired ...... I haven't had a day off in the last week and a half and I've been working 12+ hour days for most of that.  I haven't worked out much and I haven't been in the pool in all the time.

Well, that does sound like my typical "build" and "taper" for pretty much all my big races!! Tongue out

Serious Question:  Is there a bike maintenance tent down there?  My derailleur has been jumping around a bit since I put the Zipp disc on.  I played with it a little and it's better but it's still not 100% and I'm thinking after having the bike on the back of my car for six hours, I'm thinking the derailleur may need some adjusting.

There's the official bike shop that always has a tent and Dave and the gang from Elite is usually there as well.

In reply to eyeofthetiger2007 Oh wow. Sorry to hear that. I hope you also talked to the YMCA pool director/manager. Some YMCA's have membership newsletters and if they do, they should post the accident and strongly remind parents to talk to their children about the different pool areas, i.e. lap lanes versus family areas. Plus looking before leaping. Hopefully, you heal fast and can adjust with other events during the season. Best of luck to you and those of us there will hopefully have a cold one for ya at the finish! Again, good luck!

Latest and greatest weather forecast for near Cambridge:

5AM: temp 64, winds ENE 5mph, rain chance 20%, partly cloudy skies
8AM: temp 67, winds NE 5 mph, rain chance 20%, partly cloudy skies
11AM: temp 75, winds ENE 5mph, ran chance 20%, mostly cloudy skies
1PM: temp 78, winds E 6 mph, rain chance 20%, mostly cloudy skies
3PM: temp 80, winds ESE 6 mph, rain chance 20%, mostly cloudy skies

One thing that may be a bit of a factor is the dewpoint will be pretty steady at 63. That's pretty moist and means your sweat won't be evaporating to cool you down. Fortunately, the temperatures don't look like a repeat of last year. Still, the humidity will affect your performance if you don't replenish your fluids, carbs, and electrolytes.

(Quietly saying this so the weather gods don't hear ) Overall, though, looks like decent race weather. Weather models have been flipping around a bit on the forecast during the last several days as the whole area is in a weak frontal zone area. So sometimes there's been a lot of rain forecast, most of the times not. However, they seem to be sticking more with this solution as we get closer to race day. Croos your fingers.

From the buoy reports in the bay, water temp looks to be right around 70, plus or minus a few degrees. There's a reporting station at Cambridge but the water temp looks to be off.

I'll try to post again next couple of days, especially if anything changes.

Good luck to all!

I don't want to even imagine how effed up I'm going to feel during a 3-week taper next year when I'm getting ready for IRONMAN LP.  Cause this is how I feel right now!  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhKiqo-nqm0&feature=related
