QueenZipp - 2012-01-17 11:09 AM I lost a whopping 0.2 lb last week.....beats a gain but still, frustrating.

Maybe you couldn't see the weight loss because of all the lean mass you added.  Either way, you are right in that you are going in the right direction!  Congrats on that! Whenever I need motivation to get my butt off of the couch (where it is currently, but only for a moment... no really) I can always look at your logs to get motivation.  Holy cow you are consistent.

That's true, regarding the lean mass thing.

I actually have one of those hand-held body fat monitors so I have at least 2 points of measurement regarding my progress (I'm too lazy to measure multiple body parts with calipers & a tape measure).  If the trend is going down in at least one of my two measurements, I know I'm doing something right!  If both go down, that's extra bonus points!

Also x2 about how consistent Judi's logs are.... Sometimes I look at her log for motivation too Laughing

Hi all - been pretty busy and thought I'd check in.  Weight has been yo-yo - ing - diet sporadic as is exercise (explains the weight thing).

Question for the group - when your shoes need replacing - what do you notice that makes you know?  I ask as I have two pair of the same kind - have alternated use and lately my knees are just killing me when I try to run.  I'm either getting old - or I need new shoes is all I can think.  It takes 2 days for me to work stairs without pain after going for a run.

Well, my tell tail sign is when my shin splints (in your case "knee pain") becomes evident! I need new shoes ASAP!

I love this post. While I am changing (slowly!), I am this person today. It is a great reminder to love ourselves as we are, right now!

Hi all! Sorry I haven't been around lately... been in a bad mood and tend to retreat when that happens. Pulling out of it now though and the world is seeming a bit brighter. I'm a bit stuck right now on the weight loss, but going to stick with the new eating plan for a full 30 days to see if it turns around. Training is going well and I'm enjoying doing all 3 sports again!

Looks like everyone is doing pretty well on the nutrition front. Love all the ideas for healthy veggie snacks!Have a great day everyone!

I know it's time to change my shoes when I start feeling the shock in my achilles tendons. Tends to be around the 350-400 mile mark.

I can tell by how my legs feel. I am happy to get 400 miles out of a pair of run shoes.  I know some folks get 500-600+ miles out of a pair.  No matter what I wear my legs tell me around 400 miles to get new kicks.

Friday Check-in:

Weight is down to 201... getting close to losing my clyde status again.  P90X exercise and diet are working.  Today (after I finish the stretching routine) I'll be one week in (7 days down, 83 to go, then many many years after that of maintaining).  Feeling good so far.  I am actually looking forward to ("pining for" might be more accurate) running/swimming/biking again.  I'll add those in once I start adding more carbs into the diet.

Well, it's not been all that stellar a week for me.

I'm up 1.8 pounds from last week.  Up 3 pounds from my low this past Monday.

I had 3 days in a row where I went slightly over my 1500 net calorie goal (as in, 1778, 1821, 1789 net) and I put on 3 pounds.  I don't even know how that's possible.  I'm blaming hormones and lack of sleep.

I'll keep at it.  It's been a really busy week, so I haven't trained nearly enough, which probably contributes to the problem.  Should be better next week.

Happy Friday

I lost 2 lbs and 0.3% body fat since last week... Slowly & steadily making progress!  I also took another picture and made a Body Composition Album so that my weekly pics (or bi-weekly, since I forgot last week) are in the same place.

Progress Summary:
Jan 4: 163 lbs, 30.9% bodyfat
Jan 6: 162.5 lbs, 30.9% bodyfat
Jan 13: 162.5 lbs, 30.6% bodyfat
Jan 20: 160.5 lbs, 30.3% bodyfat

Great job, guys! I can't remember where I've been, but I was at 140.2 Friday morning. I am noticing an overall change in my frame though. The swimming has done some crazy stuff to my upper body, and the biking is bulking up my legs. I like it!

Keep it up!

Hello gang, I had a great week, down about 2 pounds and 1 % of body fat. Been consistent with my workouts (which is a rarity for me) and eating has been ok. Gonna need to clean it up a bit cause the easy weight loss will end soon.

It's a new week.  Time to forget about the Indian buffet yesterday and the dessert social last night.  At least I showed a moderate amount of moderation at each.  I wish everyone a healthy week!  No twinkees or tweaked knees.

I refused to get on the scale today. I am getting to where I am obsessing about the d--n thing. I am going to weigh every other day, try to make good choices and get the workouts in.

If you feel like your fitness is improving, then the heck with the scale.  My weight goes up and down so much during the course of the week (even when I'm losing weight) that I only put it in BT to remind me of how unreliable an indicator it is for me of my short term (and often long term) progress.  Keep with it!

and now I see I claimed they were superstar workouts....harumph.  I lost my "not".  I'm sure there is a joke in there about me being a "not" head.  I'll let someone smarter than me come up with it.  Enjoy at my expense!

I agree on anything is better than nothing.  At least that is my philosophy since work this week at least is going to be NUTS! Great job on getting the workouts in. Now try for 3 days in a row. )
