The guys in Slap Shot? They were inspired by the Carlon brothers, who did play in th NHL

Carlson Brothers.  Oddly enough, they were based on Jack Carlson's two brothers.  Jack was an enforcer for the North Stars.  I golfed with them once..  They putted with hockey sticks..  (It was some sort of fund raiser thing for youth hockey)..

My mind wanders while on the trainer/dreadmill...   Started to create a mental list of siblings that have dominated their respective sports...

Wondering if anyone could add more.

  • Football  - Mannings (with honerable mentions to the Barbers, and the Sharps)
  • Tennis - Williams sisters
  • Basketball - Reggie and Cheryl Miller?
  • Maybe the all time tops in their sport - Klitschko brothers in boxing - simultaneous world champions.

Reggie and Cheryl Miller also have an older brother, Darrell, who played baseball with the Angels for a few years in the late 80's.

I'll add Jackie Joyner-Kersee and Al Joyner, and Gary and Paul Gait who dominated NCAA lacrosse in the early 90's.

Lets not forget the uncomfortably-intimate hug between Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Florent Manadou and his sister, Laure, also a gold medalist.

Yadier, Bengie and Jose Molina. The only 3 brothers in the history of baseball to all have a World Series Champion ring.

Bobby(father) and Barry Bonds

And Mac and Jose weren't brothers.

Nice call (even if they aren't siblings, still nice to look back).....and then we'd go Ali and his daughter Laila...don't see many other father/daughter combos.
