Favorite Running Scene in a Movie (Page 2)

That is not a cops and robbers scene.  Spies and innocent bystanders are great running scenes.. always.

Two more- Dirty Dozen- Jim Brown dropping grenades down the vent pipes.

The obstacle course scenes in Officer and  a Gentleman.

I love that too. It underscores the whole essence of the first Rocky movie, which people who dismiss it because of the progressively worse sequels. It's not about the triumphant win. It's about going the distance. He doesn't make it up the steps so fast that first time.

Someone here has a great sig line about how an ironman is not made at a finish line, but at 5am runs.

Agree, that is an awesome scene and I think about it often when trail running.  Love it.

I will add the run scenes from Marathon Man to the thread.  Maybe violating the rules of the thread, but good movie.  Skip the dental work scene if you are going to the dentist in the near future - "Is it safe?"

 I was never a Rocky fan, but I liked him running down 9th St better than the Art Museum steps.

Apocalypto. So many to choose from in that one.

The Last Samarai, where they're running into battle totally (and literally) outgunned.

American Flyers, where the guy picks up his bike and runs to the finish line.

While is technically a chaise scene my favorite is:

The Rocky movie was a special movie in many ways.  Would it be fair to say that the first Rocky training montage was THE FIRST training montage in a movie that all others mimic.  It's been a while since I have seen the movie, but it replays in my head like a montage that all others mimic.

X2. That is one of the best scenes of glory and valor I have ever seen in a movie.

The commercial in What women want where Mel Gibson makes the Nike commercial for women.

I am Legend, Will Smith and his dog on the treadmill. Thought that one was pretty cool.

Or Braveheart when the two sides run at each other. 

Also can't forget about The Dude running away from the guys with the giant scissors.

Or Monty Python where Sir Lancelot runs towards the castle built on a swamp.

Yep, me too and I have some of the soundtrack songs on my IPod just to set the mood .

Last of the Mohicans is getting a lot of comments.  I have never seen that movie.

Silly me didn't read the rules completely.   "I'm sorry".

How old are the kids? I don't think so, lots of fighting, war stuff, romantic drama etc.

Forgot about that one.  Its a solid run.

I think this has to be accepted.  The premise of the movie makes it a bit more than a contrived chase scene.  Johnny Utah was the up and coming College QB then he wrecked his knee.  Bodi was the super athelte surfer dude.  That scene really works because they each had a backgorund in fitness of sorts that gives the duration of the scene some believabilty and punch.
