LMAO.

My most embarrassing moment at the pool involved wearing some old (very loose) swim shorts and mooning a bunch of sixth graders on the first push off the wall--they were all lined up, sitting on the wall, feet dangling in the water, watching me. I still cringe when I think about it....

Thanks so much for posting this. Hope you're not still hurting!

The comedic equation:

Comedy = You + tragedy - me

Too funny!!  (Glad you're not hurt of course).

In a perfect world, this post would have included a Youtube link...

Were you wearing water wings? Was this you? :

Glad you did not get hurt, too bad no youtube video.

Last week a colleague of mine was not so lucky.  She took her usual water aerobics class and after class fell on the way to the shower stall, both feet slipped out from under her.  She wound up breaking her arm!!

A buddy of mine told me about his experience but he had a pair of jammers he had for a long time and kept wearing them even though they were fading well when he got out of the water one day another guy we know told him to go take a look. Yeah no more coverage if you know what i mean!!

If you see her again, you should be sure to get into the water in exactly the same way. That way she'll think you did it on purpose.

Yet to have an adult pool incident, but in my late teen years I was trying to look cool in front of the girls by doing a running jump into the pool. Unfortunately the tiles that have the pool depth number painted on them can be very slippery. Fortunately, when I slipped I landed in the water, otherwise I probably would have been carted out on a backboard. No way to impress the ladies.

I see I'm not the only dork who has turned swimming into a contact sport without trying to...Your story is much funnier than mine though

Back in the day, when I was about 16, I had an above-ground pool in the back yard; 4 feet high and about eighteen feet across. Just to show off I used to run across the yard and dive in head-first right over the rail. That was great fun until the time I slipped in wet grass and crashed into the side of the pool, broke the top rail and made the pool wall collapse. A whole lot of water in the yard all of a sudden, and some splainin' to do when the 'rents got home.

I'm learning flip turns and felt like such an in the pool today, and I just kept thinking of this story and how much worse it could be.

Too good...Clip-in falls, swiming falls, Just don't trip while trail running and have to spend 20 minutes looking for your keys that ended up in the creek.

The only thing that could have added to that story was if it ended well, "if you got her digits"  I mean that could only have been the use of one of those corny lines like "I'd like to bump into you again, maybe this time I can buy you dinner first?"
