Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: WALL-E Took off Friday afternoon and met the wife, kids and our old nanny at the theater. We all enjoyed it. My wife did think it was a little slow at some points. Hearing the 2 year old walking around going "EVE" afterwards was worth the price of admission. Picked up a couple of the other Pixar references, but other than Cars have not seen that many of the movies. Anyone else see the irony of casting Kathy Najimy as the voice of the woman????? Maybe I just have a warped sense of humor ...... |

Master 1410 White Plains NY | Subject: RE: WALL-E Go here: http://www.buynlarge.com/ They went all out with the web-site. I thought the movie was again another Pixar gem. They could have worked on building up the "conflict" more in the story, but otherwise created another piece of eye candy. I was actually surprised at all of the social commentary that they fit in, a first for Pixar. I love how they slipped the reference to "Hal" (2001 Space Odyssey) in there as the ship's wheel. I work in the animation industry, and Pixar is our direct competition, but Pixar yet again raised the bar on quality! Just wait for the flood of 3D glasses movies to hit the market within the next 12-24 months. Things are gonna get even cooler! |

Extreme Veteran 367 | Subject: RE: WALL-E I saw Wall-E on Saturday afternoon with my husband and 4 y.o. son. We all LOVED it. Very cute movie, very well done. Did everyone also see the 'short' before the movie, Presto, with the rabbit and the magician? We were in HYSTERICS!! The gags were great, the animation was fantastic, and it really felt like a really hip, modern version of the Bugs Bunny/Roadrunner cartoons we all used to watch as a kid. Major props to Pixar on another success I hope they keep coming! |

We also said that this is one we'll buy the day it comes available. I suspect I'll be buying several copies to give for presents as well. |

Expert 715 Welcome to Super Mario World | Subject: RE: WALL-E TriRSquared - 2008-06-30 12:12 PM Took my 7 year old boy to see it this weekend. Typically EXCELLENT Pixar animation and attention to detail. At one point a character races across the sreen into the distance and the "camera" follows him and looses "focus" for a second and then readjusts, just as a real camera might. Little things like this are amazing to me. However I did not think this one was as funny as some of the others. It got a couple of laughs out of me but I just did not think it was as well written as some of the others. Maybe it was due to the lack of dialogue. Just seemed a bit slow in places. Of course this is such a MINOR criticism to great movie. Oh yeah, it also had some, not so subtle, lessons about consumerism (which is funny considering the number of plastic toy ties-in there are bound to be). And there are plenty of "Easter eggs" (references to past Pixar films) hidden in the film. I'm sure i missed a few but the wife and I caught several of them. Regardless it's still better than 99% of the other junk out there. My boy LOVED it... Any one else have a chance to see it? I am a 3d animator for WWE. The reason the camera focus looks real is because it is, theoretically. The camera is an actual manipulative object in 3 dimensional space. It has all the same characteristics a physical camera has... and more. I could go... but then it would get WAY OUT THERE. |

Elite 3221 the desert | Subject: RE: WALL-E Snuck out of the office to meet my wife and 6yr old daughter for a matinee. We all loved it. First, Presto was hilarious. Probably my favorite pre-movie short (the goofy bird on the wire comes close second - - forget which Pixar film that was). Second, I didn't see any leftist propaganda. My personal feeling is you can find whatever you're looking for if you want (if you want leftist propaganda, you could probably find things to support your argument. Of course, it looked to me like big business had taken over and there was less gov't - - does that sound leftist?) Lastly, it was a very cute kids movie. I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did without all the dialogue (and that it held my daughter's attention). We'll end up owning this one as well. |

Expert 950 London, UK | Subject: RE: WALL-E Well as a sub contractor to the 'evil' Disney Pixar empire, I'm very pleased that so many of you liked the film and top marks to the ones considering the DVD. It keeps a roof over my head and puts food in my family's mouthes. I've now watched WALL-E about 30 times and I still enjoy it. Now don't forget to BUY SOME MERCHANDISE! |

Extreme Veteran 422 New York, NY | Subject: RE: WALL-E jmk-brooklyn - 2008-06-30 1:08 PM There was something ironic about (spoiler coming) sitting in a big comfy chair, staring at a screen, surrounded by people drinking out of mammoth movie-theatre drink cups and watching a movie about how Earth is basically destroyed because all people want to do is sit in a chair, stare at a screen, and drink crap out of big cups. haha! ditto. And to top it off, when we saw it, half those people LEFT THEIR CUPS AND TRASH IN THE THEATER... So much for the movie's message about trash. Nonetheless, I liked WALL-E a lot. But then, I'm a pixar fan anyway. |

Master 1548 Perth, Australia | Subject: RE: WALL-E Fatdoggy - 2008-07-02 4:05 AM jimbo - 2008-07-01 1:51 PM i read that this movie has gotten mouthbreathers like jonah goldberg and glenn beck up in arms. i never see animated movies in the theater, but that right there is almost enough to get me to plunk down a few bucks for a matinee, even if disney is an evil empire. I admit I had to Google these names to find out who they are. Found this where they, and others, rant about wall-e: http://www.woodka.com/ :-) Also, since no one else has posted it yet.... Johnny 5 from the 80s flick "Short Circuit" and WALL-E...separated at birth? ;-) I TOTALLY agree! So much so that when I first saw the preview of Wall-E I thought they'd re-made Short Circuit!!! *lol* Remember "Number 5 is alive" ??? |

Elite 3022 Preferably on my bike somewhere | Subject: RE: WALL-E I LOVED the movie. Took my 5 year old to see it. At one point he asked "when will this be done?" Then it picked up. It was slow at parts for a little kid, I think, but I was thoroughly engrossed. The animation was incredible (they keep getting better and more lifelike, don't they?) and while it was fairly formulaic, I was really rooting for the robots at the end. We own Cars, and I suspect we'll own Wall-E. Cars has sooooo many gems in it, I'm looking forward to seeing what they threw into Wall-E. Did anyone else find the soundtrack to be fantastic? |

Master 2277 Lake Norman, NC | Subject: RE: WALL-E One of the best Pixar films ever! My whole family loved it! Although Gracie's now totally sick and tired of her little brother constantly saying, "Waaaalleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee". Which of course now that he knows it annoys her, he only does it more. Ahhhhh... We're into that "annoying little brother" phase!
