Wow....80 mile round trip car ride to ride my bike 30 miles.  Does that make sense?  haha.   Maybe we should do 2 loops.

I am down for the no drop loop.  Well, I will come loaded for bear, so if we do one, great. If we do two, I am ready.

I have to ask the same as Candicep. Are there any rules we N00BIES need to know. This is also my first "Gang ride". I don't want to make the gang leader upset with me. Does this gang have a name, and a gang color?

Darn, you all are riding westside (although still about 35 miles from my house!) and I've already commited to an insane ride on saturday. Maybe I'll be recovered. I'm supposed to run sunday, maybe I'll just come for breakfast!

This gang has rules and colors and a name - I will strat with the easy one first ESCKTC but all BT family is always welcome and appreciated!

Colors are tricky as several kids have dominate colors (i.e Jer and his yellow, Robot and his Orange, SportyJ and her pink . . .) so you will have to look for the free lovin' rainbow!!!

Rules:

1. 6:30 start means do not show up at 6:35 to unpack your bike as the lot will be empty!

2. If you draft me, do not make fun of my large arse!

3. Have fun - biggest part of motivation to get out to train is to know there is a group out there waiting on you to get out of be and to help/advise/chat with you as we ride.

Ok....let me try to pull together Jerry's loose ends.

1) ESCKTC stands for EAST Side Cool Kids Tri Club, where everyone is east side of somewhere.

2) Colors....why yes....here are our uniforms:  http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/photos/photo-thumbnails.asp?albumid=8283    If upon meeting us in real life, you feel so compelled to become a Cool Kid......We are about to place another order, so if you are interested, go to this thread: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=119946&posts=38&start=1

3) Breakfast is after the ride at the Deer Valley Airport: http://phoenix.gov/deervalleyairport/amenities/dvt_restaurant_menu.pdf

4) Rules of the ride are a) If you are unable to unclip from your pedal and you fall over, we will all laugh.  And then of course make sure you are alright.   b) If  you see some large piece of something in the road that would be unadvantageous to run over with a bike, please point to it so others behind you don't wipe out on it.   c) Talking and laughing are mandatory, so please arrive bright-eyed and bushy tailed and ready to RIDE!

Thanks for clearing all of that up. I was wondering about the ESCKTC, and what it stood for. I am not a east side kid, but I did just move back here from the East Coast. Does that count?
Looking forward to the ride! Can't wait to meet the cool kids.

Cody....have we met?  How do you know me so intimately?

Hello, I'm new to the group and to tri training.  I'd like to tag along on the ride if thats alright.  I know the area pretty well.  My wife and I fly hot air balloons in that area during the cooler months.  Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Hey Dean!! Join on in!!!

You are welcome Fitzy......BUT you no longer have the sole market on the hood.  There are more central PHX peeps joining the ranks.  And you ALWAYS have plans. Sigh......
