I just like to tell my friends I had hot women in my bed. :pmr2tony - 2008-08-12 5:28 PM crowny2 - 2008-08-12 10:12 AM I do what I can. Doc, you should've let me know you were coming to town. You could've stayed at the condo since I won't be there. Oh but you're a doc -- need the first-class amenities and such offered by the Hilton. mr2tony - 2008-08-12 9:57 AM Doc, I'm not doing the race and am bailing out of town on Saturday morning early but if you want to grab dinner and/or drinks on Thursday or Friday let me know. I'll get you my phone number and we can kick it freestyle. My condo is only a couple blocks from the hotel so you'll be in my stompin' grounds, and I know some decent restaurants and bars in the area. I know you're the clubbin' type so if you want to hit up the hip-hop-happenin' places I'm sure we could find someplace for ya. Sure. Bail on us when we need you the most. I see how you are. sigh

Veteran 241 Atlanta, GA | Subject: RE: Accenture Chicago Triathlon - Olympic Distance Hey Y'all! I am travelling to Chicago from Georgia for the race. I am staying downtown at the Hilton. I would be open to some light runs, dinner and just hanging out in the city. We will be up on Thursday night and at the expo on Friday at Saturday. I, most likely, will be in the Accenture tent during both the expo and race. Anyone have any plans? |

Does anyone know if this is the case? yes it goes against your swim time rather than t1. Keep in mind t1 is very very very big. That is why I found it useful to have an old pair of shoes to slip into. I would not use your running shoes incase someone accidently takes yours or you can not find yours. |

Master 1376 Chicago | Subject: RE: Accenture Chicago Triathlon - Olympic Distance TriNole - 2008-08-18 4:09 PM For the 450yrd run. what kind of surface are we running on? It is an asphalt\concrete running path. For what it is worth I've done the race the last 3 years and have done it barefoot. It hurts a little if you step on a stone, but I usually run in the grass at the edge of the path and it isn't that bad. The biggest thing is to make sure you know exactly where your bike is. With 9000 bikes in there you can get lost in a hurry. Edited by mattb1 2008-08-18 4:15 PM |

Champion 34263 Chicago | Subject: RE: Accenture Chicago Triathlon - Olympic Distance Yeah it sucks to have to run that far but that's the course. It's not THAT hard and as someone said, you can run on the grass next to the path if you like. Unfortunately the venue is very spread out, for good reason -- there are 9000 people doing the race! It's a great race and you'll have lots of fun. Great venue, great spectators and a great city. Spend lots while you're here. |

Veteran 223 Ft. Wayne, IN | Subject: RE: Accenture Chicago Triathlon - Olympic Distance Its a grassy field basically, chaulk will be tough. I have seen people buy silly balloons and tie them to the transition rack - the best one was a big silver mylar balloon with "happy Bar Mitzvah" last year. If you do that, try to be courteous to your neighbors since the string can get tangled with a bike on a windy day. Frankly, the racks are well marked at the ends. This is my third year, I ususally navigate by the trees in the area, at sunrise I stand at the swim in-run out gate and find a tree or a building landmark and shoot for that line - it works out ok. The best thing you can do is get to bed early and get to transition EARLY, it is key to getting a good spot and setting up! PS - bring a flashlight. Good luck. |

Veteran 241 Atlanta, GA | Subject: RE: Accenture Chicago Triathlon - Olympic Distance So, i can gather from your comments that the racks are merely marked with a range of numbers, not individual rack numbers/names? I guess the logistics in printing 9000 stickers gets crazy.... |

With 9000 bikes in there you can get lost in a hurry. During the race talks last year they strongly suggested to stay off the grass if you are barefoot. They said they can sweep the asphalt, but they cannot sweep the grass for glass, beer bottle tops, etc.. for what its worth. |
