There is plenty of validity to many of the complaints about cyclists. Trying to control speech and expression isn't going to help anything. ok, fine, whatever, don't report it. play devil's advocate all you like... meh. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where to report it, or for what reason to report it. figure it out yourself. in other news, I reported it, reviewed, and posted to my team's FB page. Meh yourself. Just curious as to what the big deal is. They aren't exactly giving you instructions on how to run someone over. Freedom of speech goes for the stuff we don't like as well you know. Apparently that does take a rocket scientist to understand these days. Here, do a little reading on it sometime. http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/freedom-speech/#MilHarPriHatSpeSame as this website, AFAIK Facebook is a private owned website and for that reason freedom of speech and bla bla bla is irrelevant otherwise they wouldn't have all those rules in their site regulating it to begin with. It seems to me that when people use that venue to promote violence against others members of the same site IMO is in their best interest to step in. Those people disliking cyclists and wanting to run them over to teach us a lesson are entitled to their opinion and dislike us as much as they want, hell many times it drives me nuts how some cyclists ride, same as how some drivers drive, how some people act etc but I think a line has to be drawn when you use your dislike to promote anger, violence and even target an specific group who frequent in this case the same site. As I mentioned when I reported the page; as harmless as a FB page might be, some of the comments on that page are to be honest frightening and it only takes for one idiot to act on his dislike/frustration and do something very stupid based on the seemingly support of others. For that reason I think it is on FB interest to get rid of pages like that, again as a private website. Those wanting to promote their dislike for cyclists are free to start their own website, pay for the domain/server, gather traffic and hate away. PS. I am no rocket scientist but I invite you to start a thread in this website attacking a group of BTers in similar fashion as some posters have done on that "fan" page and let me know how long it last... |
