My profession is a little questionable as to what it is...but...did you know that dryer sheets work well as a cleaning rag? I used it recently to clean up the non-cooking surfaces on our stove/oven and microwave. Even if you don't fry - you still manage to get a bit of grease and some dust. Wet a dryer sheet and it comes right off! And you can re-wet/rinse a few times because it holds up fairly well (won't rip).

Oh and it seems like the flow of traffic/pick-up process for elementary schools is a big...messed up thing.

Wow this sounds like my day!  Agreed, it is a giant Charlie Foxtrot at the elementary school!

I would also like to add that shaving cream will get sharpie off a wood floor and countertops.

Other than that, if you would like to learn about painting, welding and wood sculpture, I'm your typical starving artist.  Wait scratch that, I found a sugar daddy, so I'm just a stay at home mom artist!

Varied carpet beetles can destroy an amazing amount of stuff, and have the ability to basically hibernate and shut down until they get what they need. And if you're seeing adult beetles, it's already too late, because the larvae are voracious eaters of pretty much every fiber--although it is the bits of skin, hair, and funk that they generally are eating, the fiber is just a bi-product for their eating.

Translation: They're annoying and stubborn little jerks.

As companies are struggling to cut costs, and the generous defined-benefit plan, or classic pension, is increasingly being replaced by defined-contribution plans like the 401(k), which employees pay into. In 1975, 62 percent of private-sector workers participated in a defined-benefit plan (a pension); in 2009, only 7 percent did.

Just to hijack a bit, I knew that companies were moving away from D-B plans, didn't realize the number had fallen so low already. I'm lucky enough to have both D-B and D-C/401k, although my company eliminated the D-B for new employees some time back.

What percentage of government workers participate in a defined-benefit plan?

The CFA breed standard actually calls for:    "Five toes in front; four in back"

Ummm...I'm not sure (good question), but...Nearly 20 million government employees (teachers, police, fire fighters, and other public servants) are promised pensions.

Also, state and local governments collectively admit to underfunding teacher pension plans to the extent of some $332 billion, according to figures in their Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports.
