I'll be 51 this month. Us more mature people have some unique challenges that the "youngsters" can't begin to fathome. lol! Hi Robin! Forget about September and move forward. It's going to be a great month for us all!
It is a good thing they can't, they wouldn't sleep at night for fear of getting older! Heh! October has been a great month in the past, I am hoping to continue that streak! Hi Robin!!! This is my first Peach challenge. Peach challenges are great for accountability, you'll love it. |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Peach day one is in the bag. I didn't go as long as I wanted but I went a bit faster than I should have. Got to learn I can run longer if I run a bit slower. This challenge is working for me already though because I didn't really want to do it but I also didn't want to miss the first day of the challenge. And then, because I set a minimum of 15 minutes, I went for that long. Kim. |

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Got a 3+ mile run in this morning and a bunch of core/IT band exercises. I love this time of year although it's hard to know how to dress. I think dragging out the tights was overkill |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() cmp234 - 2012-10-01 2:13 PM Hi! I'm Courtney. I'd like to join in too. I just finished the September Challenge, which was my first time on the challenge forum. I fell a little bit short of my goal, but I liked having the extra motivation! This is my first season doing tri's, and now my season is pretty much over, but I'd like to keep active through the cold months. I'll probably be doing some other things besides S/B/R that I've neglected, like yoga and strength training. Anything over 30 minutes will count as a peach for me. I also usually bike to work (8 miles each way) as often as I can, and I'll count that as a workout. And I like that this challenge will force me to keep my logs up to date, since I'm terrible at that! Welcome! This is my first challenge so it's nice to see other newbies. I'm so excited about this challenge. I have a procedure early tomorrow so I'm going to make sure that I get in some stretches and core beforehand. Maybe I can do something in the afternoon tomorrow too but I want to make sure that I have the peach status before I leave the house. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() abake - 2012-10-01 8:46 PM The October Peach Challenge is officially underway!!! My schedule called for a rest day today, but I did some strength work and lots of stretching. And some foam roller, which really should count as a workout, as painful as it is. ![]() I did the foam roller a couple of times and I think you should get triple points for each time. Dang those things hurt!!!!!!! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() October 1st: Ran in 90+ degrees after work. For this San Francisco weather-wimp, it was TOUGH! October 2nd: Just got to work from the gym. Did a lot of mixed cardio including running, rowing, and cycling.
Thanks for setting up this challenge! I feel better than I did 3 days ago! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() October 1 - Ran 6 miles at lunch and then did ballet class. I am definitely not a dancer and am just taking it for stability strength and fun. I'm pretty sure watching me do ballet would painful for anyone. Though boy do I get weird sore muscles afterwards. Today - Swim at lunch maybe and 4 mile run with a friend after work. My pool motivation is low as always, and I may just go read my book under a tree instead. Can I use a race this weekend as an excuse? And seeing you all and your foam roller use reminds me I should do that. Thanks! |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wow, rocking progress and enthusiasm!! I was also in the boat of so very unmotivated yesterday but knowing that i threw out the challenge I got some yoga in before the night was up! Today, I am going to be extra keen as i brought my run stuff to go out a lunch since my hubby planned a fancy dinner out for our anniversary! I'll check back in after my run. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I'm jealous of that San Fran 90 degree weather! I've already been wearing gloves and a jacket on some mornings. I haven't broken out the tights just yet though. Yesterday and today, I biked to work. It's such an easy way to get a workout in, but I think it makes me less motivated to do other workouts, especially swimming. Is anybody in a Masters swim group? I'm thinking about joining one during the winter. Foam rolling seems to be popular today. I think I'll do some of that and some yoga and stretching too tonight. |

I'll check back in after my run. Happy anniversary!! A fancy dinner sounds like a great motivation to get things done earlier. My goal today is to setup entertainment while I'm running. I get SO bored on the treadmill it's hard to keep motivated to stay on there. Then I can do something on there after the kids go to bed. |

Expert ![]() ![]() | ![]() Well, I'm in. I've taken a year off, so I've been starting from scratch to get ready for the Big Sur Half Marathon. It's nice to have a goal and actually have to work out. My sub challenge is to lose 10 pounds. My wife and I are going out for pie when either of us lose the weight ![]() |

So i did make it out! i am a little sweatier than i'd like sitting my desk now but I feel good for getting it done! I'll have to double check the distance since I ran downtown in the city and my GPS signal bounces all over the place with all the tall buildings. |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I didn't get the entertainment setup today but I did manage to get a brisk walk in. The kids went to bed late so I'm just happy I found some motivation. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Hi All Id like to join the challenge . My name is Paul. I need a taser or some form of motivation to keep up my training in this solitary (generally) sport . Unless its race week . I am an overworked artist who has ambitions to place in races but needs to shed weight to resolve running issues which have reduced me to months of walking with a limp after a Half marathon last winter. I have returned to running once a week . I can bike and swim all i want but must restrict my running to keep my knees happy . My first goal will be to be active and rotate through all the sports i love . My secondary (but important) goal for the month is to be down 10 pounds by Nov 4 th when we host a half marathon . This is ultimately my limiter . My Next Race is the Magic Mountain Man touted as perhaps the toughest triathlon in the US |

Can't wait to see what happens by the end of the month! Sometimes all it takes is that one step of doing something to get the motivation sparked. Edited by tnickerson 2012-10-03 7:56 AM |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() So I intended to bike home from work last night, but my boss kept me late, and it was totally dark out by the time I left. But I just ordered a headlight and rear blinky light for my bike though, so this won't be an excuse for long! Hopefully, I'll bike home from work tonight, though it's a gross rainy day today. Either way, I'll still get my peach, because I have a tennis lesson tonight! |

Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Day 3- I can't lie. My Oct. 3rd square will be yellow. I had intentions of working out, but can't. -Was out the door for work at 6. -Dealt with an issue with a spec. ed. student at school that I can't get into. -Left school at 5. Hour commute home. -Had to buy a dress for a wedding this weekend! Perhaps I should have bought this dress this past weekend. -Just got home to work on school stuff. -Now am working on student goals for parent conferences- must be done tonight. So, after looking at my day, I do not feel bad about not being able to workout. My intention was to cycle today after school. I was supposed to leave school at 3. Crazy issue arose. C'est la vie. My goal is to not let this get me down and to carry on with the peach challenge. |
