Most of the time a long sleeve shirt is long enough for a little modesty. I prefer the CW-X kind. You can wear them even if it is a run that warms up (to mid 50s). I find them very comfortable, and much better than starting out with freezing legs. |

I will wear tights I wear poly/lycra wicking boxer briefs under them (I actually wear that type of underwear all the time except when cycling and swimming) they are not as tight as real compression shorts. I never wear shorts over the tights but I will wear the windbreaker pants over them if it is really cold. |

I wear Under Armor briefs under my running tights, but it's usually below freezing before I switch from plain running shorts to the tights. It's a dry cold here though.  That's when I'm actually running outside, of course. Not much running this winter, so far, with a sore foot. |

I wear tri shorts under them and regular shorts over the top mostly just for looks (I think I look funny in tights without shorts over them -- maybe you are more fetching in them.) To each their own however I think shorts worn over tights look funny....And I understand you mentioned you think you look funny...I'll always have a looser top of some sort so I'm not wearing tight top and bottom because then things can get a little scary... And regarding wearing anything under tights, I wear the compression boxer-briefs and they are fantastic... When it's time to get the tights out, THESE are my go-to. On top of my compression shorts. I don't like the lycra type. If it's really cold ... below -10F ... or if it's really windy, I've got windproof undies that keep Little BernardDogs nicely protected. |

Also wear tights under a short skinsuit for cold cyclocross. When it gets colder than that its on to thermal skinsuit. |

They aren't super tight like traditional tights, but they aren't baggy or noisy like track pants. The only downside is they were still $50 at the outlets. I use them for both running and cycling. |
