I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, but now I'm thinking you are desperate for attention.  Did your mommy not love you, not give you any attention?  Was daddy gone all the time?  Maybe he drank to much, leaving you in a negative feedback/attention loop where you only feel worthwhile if someone is mad at you?  Any attention is better than no attention?

Obviously you have no intention of being part of the community here as you have had opportunities to back off and won't or can't..  All you have to do is ignore bear if you choose, or, if you wish, PM him about times, etc....  Why do you insist on doing this?

If you have a vendetta against Bear, well, he is a big boy and can take care of himself, but why continually insist on attacking him in the forums and over his times?  Who cares?  You can read some of his posts and know right away he knows what he is talking about, but if you don't believe, don't read it.

Are you to stupid to realize you are only galvanizing everyone on the sight to bear's defense?  Why are you wasting your time here?

Hah, Bear is slow, he's a lousy runner and can only manage 21 mph on the bike.  That's so lame.  Immediately discount all opinions and information he gives you since his times clearly indicate he doesn't know what he's talking about!

[/sarcasm]

Seriously, from what I've seen so far, this site isn't about who's 'allowed' here and who's not.  It's people who know they don't have the time, genetics, or wallet to get them to the front of Ironman Hawaii but still take improving their personal performance very seriously.  I know that no matter what my time is, I'll find support, encouragement, and advice here.  I don't have to take it, and I may disagree with it, but I'm glad it's here.

With that said, I'll be ignoring any more posts from 455halfim.

Can we stop feeding the troll, now?

yes, seems we have a troll on our hands.  A good rule of thumb is:  don't feed trolls and they soon get bored and go away.  Even ones who do a 1/2 IM in under 5 hours

By the way, 455halfim, what race were you in?  Bear gave you his info, now lets see yours, tough guy.  And please be specific about the race.

i think he is just looking for a reaction/attention. it makes his day everytime someone acknowledges him, so my recomendations are to just ignore him like there wasn't even a post by him.

girls, girls, you're ALL pretty,

ya know, i only have so much time per day to get online. the last thing i want to read is arguments about PBs. if we all didn't consider ourselves beginners in one way or another, we wouldn't be here, right?

bear, what i like most about you is that you don't BS - you speak your mind, but always in a 'take it or leave it' kind of way. we need more of that in this world.

455halfim, i suggest you try and take it - let this go and try to become a supportive member of these boards - or leave it.

bear doesn't know me from adam, nor do most people on this site, but i can tell you that the information/advice that he and the other people on this site have given me has been invaluable to my training. i could care less about their pb's and appreciate them sharing their experiences and information with me. i understand that what works for one person may not work for me and if i try it and it doesn't work...oh well. it does bother me that someone would come in here and launch petty personal attacks on bear or anyone else. i hope the troll finds a new website to grace with his presence...he has worn out his welcome here.

Last time I saw handlebars like that was on Scottish Speedster Graham Obree's hour record bike, before the ICU made them illegal.
