This is awesome ... I'd like to join in too ... sooo need to get my bike mileage going ![](https://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/images/emoticons/smile.gif)
As opposed to coming up with individual team names, do we want to adopt some of our favourite TDF Pro Teams ? That way we get more of a TDF feel for the challenge ?
Not sure if this complicates the simple % that is used in most challenges but was wondering if we want to invent a points system to track Team Leadership ? For eg.:
- Max weightage to rider that meets goal (100%) - say 10 pts
(should balance out potential bonus points that can be gained by the elite riders
)
- 500' Net Elevation Gain - 1 pt
- 50 miles covered in stage/workout - 1 pt
- 15 mph av. pace on ride - 1pt (every 5 mph increment gets an additional pt)
Its very easily possible to go crazy with this ... we can get individual on this or just stay with the team concept and have Yellow (Overall Leader) , Green (Sprinter?) , Polka-dot (Climbing?) Jersey handed out every week !
Can you tell I'm excited
Great minds think alike!!! Yes Ive thought some of these ideas but not the execution... Im in the process of putting together tracking spreadsheets that will include more than just the basic goal and % achieved... but this will be the basis for team glory (so people can chose how much information to report) ... there are plenty of other options....
Im hoping to include, distance (if tracked), time, type of sessions (based on TT, mountain and flat) but your ideas sound great as additional extras.. I dont want to make it too much work for anyone though...
On the weekly challenge update I will be asking for team leaders to point out any major achievements and good news stories from the team so I can do the update and tie it all in with the tour, the jerseys, the triumphs etc Im happy to 'formalise' it if there is an easy way.
Ive just woken up so let me have a look at the suggestions and come back to you... Im all for going crazy as long as it makes sense and isnt too much work for the team leaders
