the 2-3 bengals play for cincy.  the 1-5 49ers play for sf.  oh, and since you're from fresno, you should be aware of this... the 2-4 raiders play for oakland.

but the 49ers will win their division.  ha.

I am a Seahawks fan as well and that is a completely crappy division where the 49'ers could still win.

Sadly, I have nothing to dispute with that comment. As a whole, the NFC west is -105 points, so they either eke out a win among themselves, or get blown out by someone outside their division. Pathetic.

And John, as for watching the other football, that's definitely Birdy's thing, not mine. He still plays from time to time, although it's usually followed by several days of "agghhh... my knees hurt..."

Sorry I've been a lurker for a while... I've been following along, I promise! I've been corresponding with some of you via email.

Congratulations where appropriate: weight loss = reduced pant size; running a super speedy mary; liberating tree rats; puppy acquisitions (we're getting a new labradoodle in two months... Kyla, Jill wants to name him "Riggins"); using Cross as an excuse to get another bike (well played); and happy anniversaries.

Sorry to hear about Boston filling up. I know nothing about the usual timeline, but that seems awfully fast. I'd be bummed too.

Being a lifelong fan of Seattle sports - I know it is too early to start being hopeful of a post-season appearance.  And there's little glory in in winning such a suckfest of a division.  I don't know what would be worse, not making the playoffs in this division or getting blown out in the first round.

Back to baseball - I'm not a Giants fan, nor am I a Phils fan - but last night's game was fun to watch.  I find myself pulling for the Giants and that kind of surprises me.  I guarantee that would not have happened during the Bonds era.

Lexi Lallas sounds like a stripper name.  Just saying

Haha I am so used to being on an island on this side of the country.   My brother and I are still Seatte fans though I haven't lived there since 1979, all my relatives are still fans even though I think I only have one uncle that still lives there.

I feel your pain, used to being disapointed by my teams...

OK, say what you want about me, my legs, my cycling, my husband, my state, my football team, but do not dis on my dog or my kids. Come spend a day in the field with Trip and you will see that he has never blinked a bird!!! Live ones, dead ones, real ones, fake ones, skanky ones, frozen ones, heavy ones, light ones -- no siree. If a bird is to be retrieved, he is on it. And he's steady while he waits for his go command as well. Truly, a thing of beauty to watch. Man, I love my dog. (And yes, I know tongue in cheek when I see it, so of course I won't give you my typical "BITE ME" treatment. XOXO.)

That said, I'm a former Bay Area gal and a 49'ers and Giants fan. I'm also being a local gal and supporting those Seahawks (who were robbed in Superbowl XL) and I try to cheer for the Mariners but I'm just not an AL'er at heart. That said, it's really hard to watch a lot of football with kids. So we don't follow it like we used to. ("Follow it" -- back in the Olden Days Pre Kids we would do a long run on Sunday, go out for breakfast and order 3 entrees between the two of us [I weighed about 15 pounds more than I do now, gee, wonder why?], come home and "watch" football which usually meant a 2-3 hour mid-afternoon nap!! Those were the days!!) Yeah, I sort-of keep up on scores and catch parts of games here and there, but I'm certainly in no position to engage in passionate debates about how the season is shaping up.

I will tell you how my season is shaping up: It's another sunny day, but the tides are a-changin'. And before they do, I gots me a bike that needs some riding. Later, peeps!!

Plan for today:

Cross Practice at 7:00am
Ride to work from cross 8:30 - 9:00am
Work...
Run home 4:00pm
Drive back by later tonight and pick up my bike and bike stuff.

LOL, they aerated the field we use for practice so all those little plugs were on the ground.  While we weren't leaving imprints in the ground (don't want to damage the field) the plugs just all turned to mud so I rode the :30 to work flinging mud at everyone else on the trail.  Walked through work up to my office covered in mud to pick up my suit, then to the gym for a shower.

Got quite a few interesting looks since I had mud all over my clothes and face.

Have to come back tonight and pick up the mudball that is my bike.

Life would be awesome if we had a shower, not to mention a gym, in our building.  My office is close to some nice running routes and is an easy commute by bike, but the lack of shower puts a damper on all of that.

Not just a gym but also has an indoor track (albeit short) and giant pool that never fills up or has weirdos show up.  Tony is so spolied.

My office is close to some nice running routes and is an easy commute by bike, but the lack of shower puts a damper on all of that.

hey, Seahwaks #36??? who is that? Not current Lawyer Milloy right?

It's #38 - Mack Strong.  He'll never not be a Seahawk.

Subject: RE: swbkrun Mentor Group II- CLOSED FOR BUSINESS!!!
The Off-season is officially over! I have done very little since Augusta due to business travel and coming home sick. I thought not working out would be fun, but what I did in its place sucked! However, today I ran with my coach at lunch and outlined what I want to accomplish between now and the Rev3 Half in May.

I am going to focus on my lousy run. He suggested a 5K in January, 10K in February and a half marathon in March (The same one I did the full for last year). I and going to try to due an olympic in mid-April (Beaver Dam).

Besides working on my run I am going to try to become mini-me. I want to be at my desired race weight (189 lbs.) by Rev3 and then carry that through the whole of next year.

I have no specific race plans after Rev3, but the usual sprints and an occasional olympic are very likely ending with B2B Half in November (I think).

HA, as far as I know he was always a starting Fullback, that doesn't make you a backup running back, just the guy that ends up blocking for the running back.

Yeah, do they not have fullbacks in the CFL?  Is that still around?  Is Doug Flutie still the best QB in the league?
