Anyone else having problems waking up w/ it still dark outside?

I've slept through my second morning run in two days.

Oh well... today we're heading to southern Utah.  Hopefully there I will get to escape the family once or twice for a couple of runs (looking for a good 8 or 9 miler Sat or Sun).  Then next week will be prep/taper for my half.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!

I am really jealous! I LOVE Utah, especially the canyon lands. We camped at Bryce Canyon in August one year and froze half to death. We didn't even have coats with us. lol

Enjoy the change of scenery.

My internet and computer and touch pad at home are all acting funky. I guess I'll need to start bringing home my office computer to keep up with my training comrades. :-)

I biked 35 minutes yesterday, super easy, but it was ridiculously windy. Fortunately, by 8:30 p.m., the wind had died down, so I went out for a short run. It was cold -- in the upper 30s by time I got home, but it felt really good.

Even so . . . is anyone else missing the 100 degree weather so many of us had this summer? As I was layering up to get ready to run last night, I was missing the evenings when I could just throw on some shorts, top, shoes, and head out the door (with my light, of course).

I'm hoping for 8 miles today, since I missed the long run scheduled for Sunday.

didn't run yesterday, decided not to run today...So this leaves me 11 days to complete 11 sessions.   Have an A.R.T session in the morning, praying to find out what is wrong with my freaking glute's.

GO WEST!!! Sorry I haven't been around much, but I have been running.  Finished the Defiance 50k last weekend, and am right on target to make my goal for the month

Made my eight miles. Whew. I was worried at about mile 5 that I was going to need to cut it short to get home in time, but I kept at it and finished the plan.

The best part is that I don't have to run in low 40s high 30s tonight. That makes me very happy.

I am starting to see some hope of running again soon.  I am going to run 1-2 miles a day starting tomorrow, if that's all I can do.  I can't meet my goal, but I will keep chipping away at it.  Sorry Midwest!

After this morning I have 9 days to get in 11 runs, I guess I will be doubleing up on a few days next week. Have to be careful though, Sunday starts spring training, 28 wks until my first race(besides a couple local 5Ks) in 2012.

Hmmm...suddenly my goals seems so much more achievable.  I am still challenging myself to run most days for the rest of the month.    I really just don't want to have miserable experience at the race next weekend, so fingers crossed that base I built is still there.

Short 3.3 mile run this morning outside of Zion Nat'l Park.  Ran up Kolob Res Road.  Nothing special in terms of scenery... but the change of view is still nice.  I was going to leave before daylight (and may still have to tomorrow) but then I started thinking about the coyotes, and decided it might not be such a good idea.

Oh well... of to go explore the park w/ the boys.

Coyotes are nothing to worry about - they're big ol' fraidy cats...  mountain lions on the other hand...

Planning to run tonight.  Got a maternity support band last night, so I'm eager to try it out and see if that helps with the ligament pain I've been feeling.

I hope the band helps. I thought about getting one when I was pregnant, and I wasn't even running. The load gets a little heavy at times. :-)

No running for me today: scheduled rest day. I am still going to do some strength moves, an easy bike ride, and some yoga in the evening. I have grown to look forward to my Fridays. :-)

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Sounds like fun!! When I run in the dark, I stick to the city roads (I usually run on the dirt roads outside of town) because of coyotes . . . well that and skunks, possums, bobcats, armadillos, and foxes, but mostly coyotes.

skunks are the worst and they are everywhere - I have seen them in the middle of town - just zig-zagging back and forth...
