U need to take a profile pic of you in your combat boots and kilt. You'd be the

"Kilted Combat Booted Clydesdale" :=)

Challenge accepted!!!  Would you like Irish National Tartan, Hunting MacLeod Tartan, Black Watch, plain black, Dress Stewart, or UtiliKilt Mocker?

are you a Traditionalist or not? Smile

Out running or enjoying a fine glass of red...
Subject: RE: DOWN for the Holidays!
I got in a 6.16 mile run.

We went apple picking this morning and there is this great historic tavern right by the orchard (near Thomas Jefferson's Monticello), so my lunch eating kind of went off the rails...fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, pickled beets, cole slaw....oh well, it is a once a year kind of thing.

I really need to be more careful. This weekend wasn't one cheat meal but a series of cheats...

So many choices!  How do you expect us to choose!?!  I say post pics of all!

Now, now... that would be like a shot of crack.  The first hit releases all the endorphins built up in the brain at once, giving the ultimate high.  Every hit after that is taken in an effort to achieve the same high, but to no avail.  We can't have that!  You hafta go slow!

KateTri1 - 2012-11-04 6:20PM

Whichever one looks the most badazz.

They're all badazz!
I'll post a teaser of me in my UtiliKilt Mocker, just before the OBX Tri (though, I'm sporting Vans sneakers and my traditional "TapouT" pre-race shirt [a story for a different time if asked]).
I'll do up a combat booted shot in the kilt I plan to wear to a shipmate's wedding this coming Saturday.  I just gotta find the camera with the timer.?

are you a Traditionalist or not? Smile

Usually, I let this question go unanswered.  Today, I'll just pique the ladies' interest levels with this.  See my comment at the top of page 2.  That should do the trick.  ;-)

Bet you thought I was gonna forget the teaser.  NOPE!!

BG Info... I always wear a TapouT shirt before a race.  ALWAYS.  This was taken after my friend, Beth, and I finished setting up our transition areas.  She's much better at it than I am.  We were still about 2 hours from gun time when this was snapped.

Shermbelle - 2012-11-03 10:06 PM Got in a great workout yesterday, 85 mile trainer ride followed by 4 mi on the treadmill. Headed up north with the family to Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend. So it has been a bit tough to eat descent. Doing better than i normally do but still not good.

85 miles on the trainer?  thats got to be 3.5/4 hrs. thats just way to long for me on a trainer. hour is my max, less if i'm doing training sets.   what was you stats from that session

The IM I am doing next is pancake flat in Key West so I have been riding flat courses on my computrainer to get use to flat, steady state rides. It took me 4 hrs and a  few seconds to go 85miles at about 224 Watts avg.

You got me thinking so I went and looked it up. I am at 3355 miles biking this year, and I have done 1 IM 1 HIM and I think a total of 6 other rides outside. So about 3000 of those miles have been on the trainer. I love the trainer and the treadmill. I have two little kids so most of my training is late at night in my basement.

hey,

Down to 190, so a pound down last week and 6 pounds over all.

Weekend was not good. Big dinner last night. Suffered from classic, "oh eat whatever you want you are running for 3 hours tomorrow" syndrome. At least I got the run in.

So here is the before picture from the holiday half way through october.

Nice day for those who could get out (or do overnight treadmill runs as the case may be - amazing) for others - I hope you overcome your ailments (self induced Surprised and otherwise)

Got in 1:15 on the bike or 26 miles and then a  4 mi run after to throw into the mix.

Had a pretty rough week of eating. Concert on Monday, Halloween, gone over the weekend. Need to clean up my act this week although we have dinner plans tomorrow night and then going to see Zac Brown Band Thursday night.

About an hour of riding today, last cyclocross race of the season.

    Ran 5k tonight.

Unfortunately the halloween candy kicked my butt the last couple days but I am back on track now!!

    I hope this week isn't a write off as a result :p

    A Challenge for the Week.

Eat as much green as you can.

    Lets have a mini-contest.

Who can eat the most servings of green veggies this week?

Keep track of your servings and we can report either on Friday or Sunday.

    Awesome idea!! Count me in!

    Name: Sara

Basics: In my 30's currently 135 lbs

Goal: Shooting for 125! Although I'd be happy with 130 if I'm toned!

Activity: Jogging a few days a week and incorporating fitness programs. Currently doing the Insanity Asylum -- but looking into ordering the Insanity Asylum Volume 2. Anyone else want to take this on with me?? Workout buddies are welcomed!!

Dieting: Cutting down meals into smaller portions and decreasing carbs in my meals. And staying away from the Christmas cookies! LOL!

Good luck to everyone else!! Thanks for the motivation Abbie!

Green challenge is GREAT for me. Breakfast= smoothie with spinach and kale (and fruit). Lunch= sauteed cabbage.

Dinner is going to be around the fire ring so I made tons of celery and carrot sticks to much on. The wine, however, will be red!
