OK, the pet album is being filled up. Feel free to post one if you don't see your pet in here.

Janyne, I am waiting on the as yet un-named puppy to arrive at the house, then into the album she goes.

Where are my kitties? I think I put the pic on page 2 or 3 of this thread. Of course, if more are needed, I can always oblige! I have a lot from when Tomoko (the little one) was a kitten. She was convinced (and still is) that Smudgee (the big one) was her mother, although he is an unrelated male. The weird thing is that Smudgee, gentle giant that he is, happily went along with all this, and still "nurses" her sometimes. (She sucks on his tummy fur.) They are 2 and 4 years old, respectively, now--6 and 15 pounds. The vet calls my cats "two ends of the parabola".

As for N+1, I have been threatened by my folks with being disowned if I bring home any more "bikes or cats".

No problem....Just realized they lead off the pet pic parade on page 1. Somewhere also have a crazy pic of Smudgee in his carrier on the aerobars of my P2 last year. (Weird story, but I took him to the vet, browsed in the nearby bike shop while he had a broken tooth filed, and ended up with the bike. Took both cat and bike home in a taxi and posed the photo in front of my building. Will try to find the picture and attach--maybe on my I-pad.)

Cuuuute. Tomoko used to love "riding" the towel on my aerobars while I rode the trainer when she was little--sweat all over her fur. Now I guess she is too grown up and dignified for that.

Last night, whole family was over at a friend of my sister for dinner after the kids were done with their thing. Sister tried to have her 3 year old son eat at the table next to me. He kept running away screaming. I'm not in anything remotely resembling a costume? Eventually she sat him down to eat, but he just kept crying. Until I started eating his french fries. This was the greatest thing in the world to him and somehow he was now happy and eating?

Phil managed to get a pic of the whole gang this weekend.

He assures me that there is still room for 2 more dogs cause you can see carpet. I have told him that we have reached the point of S-1 (but if I'm honest he will win any argument about that)

Hey guys I have a tri related question for you - shocking I know but anyway.

I have decided that I finally need to rediscover my core muscles that used to be great but disappeared about a decade ago. I reckon being realistic that I can find 15 minutes 3 times a week. I think at this stage I could probably do a plank for maybe 10 seconds that's how bad they are.

I have lower back issues so I need to be careful of those. What are your suggestions?

That is a lot of dog!  I love how Coca is sleeping on the face of one and the paws of another!

I just completed a 30 day plank challenge.  Started at 30 seconds (I think) and ended at 5 minutes.  It is very important to have good form doing planks or you will feel it in your back.  There are some good youtube videos that show proper form, so you may want to check that out if you decide to do the challenge which can be found here

I haven't really done core specific work in a few years. Probably couldn't give a specific thing to look at from that time anyway. I think what you really want to get out of it is more the ability to control things better. I don't actually mean strength here, but rather the development things like some touch or sensation of what is working, how hard it is doing so, maybe what should be. You'll still need to do the primary activity that these supplementary ones are supposed to help out, finding your position there and maintaining it to develop it that way. As in not slumping on the run or bike.

I started out doing planks in front of a mirror to check my form after the yoga instructor helped me with proper position.

Actually, Australia has a flying fox. It's one of the largest bats in the world with a wingspan of about 4ft.

I loooove the pets above! Bunch of cuteness.

Speaking of triathlons - I had a dream last night I was training for a HIM. And it felt surprisingly smooth and easy. That was weird.

As for the core, I found the workout in the pic. I also do push-ups challenge (I want to go to 100, I am at 25). I have hula hoop at home and decided to work with this too. I found mixed opinions on how the hoop helps with the core (and mine is not weighted anyway), but after 30 seconds I was out of breath... So I bet it may help with something

If you (and anyone else) want to do plank challenge, I'm in
Mary

Sorry, I didn't mean for this pic to be that huge. Does it show extremely huge in your computers? If so, how can I edit it...?
