just spoke with suzy.  she's pumped!  swim in lake michigan was great despite a little sand to deal with.  the water warmed up from the 40's to ~65 and some clear a$$ water.   bike was awesome.  run was good even though it got a bit warm.

way to rock suzy!!!!  now hurry up and get that rr up!

WOW!!!  Nice job ladies!!!!   Way to rock it....can't wait to read the RRs!!

Downtown Calgary - pffftt ....not too many deer there, just drunks in cowboy hats!!!   We were 13km west of Cochrane.  We had a fun talk with the RCMP at the airport - seems the damage wasn't as much as usual - almost like the they didn't believe us.  Go figure.  Just so's you know, Trevor - report all collisions with wildlife immediately.

Had fun meeting Trevor - and talking about everyone in the MG!  He even bought the coffee!   Something about Canadian money being different?   Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I'm back at my friends' condo in Guerneville babying my sore feet. The race was really awesome...and while I didn't have a GREAT swim, I believe it felt really good! People knocked into me and I was able to totally ignore it and stay my course. I think they lumped our T1 time in there so it was closer to 45 min. My bike was incredible and the thing was, I held back just a little in hopes of pulling off a super fast run. Which didn't happen. Had some stomach Issues at about mile 4 and then it started getting a bit hot and I found myself walking a little bit. Darn it!!! UMy left heel started killing me and it never has before!Overall, I'm very happy with my performance. Didnt hit my super secret goal, but for a while ther during the first 3 miles of the run, I thought I might. It gives me some things to work on, for sure.Have a greet rest of the weekend!

Just a short hello from a very tired, very sun burned and very dehydrated Suzy Shain.....the storm luckily stayed away, but the heat did not..dealt with 100+F heat indices on the bike and run.  Swim was actually cold, a little less chop than Lonestar.  Just like Kim, my swim time was shorter than stated, 46:39...the rest was due to my #1 mistake of the day, trying to take my wetsuit off in the water.  It got stuck and I had to sit on the beach to get it off...totally covered in sand getting on the bike.  John already gave me crap for my T1, but that included a 1/4m run up the sand beach and boardwalk to get to transition.....bike went as planned and I finally delivered the 85% FTP ride I was looking for.  The run was a total sufferfest.  My plan was always to walk through the water stops, but while the run was a Z3 RPE effort the pace was NOT!  Not disappointed at all...the execution is what i needed it to be for IM.  I did pick up the pace the last couple of miles on the run and was able to deliver my triple puke right after the finish line....three medics rushed over to make sure I was ok and then one of them high fived me afterwards....I questioned his sanity since I used that hand to wipe my mouth.  All in all, a great learning experience.

PS Sorry for the run on paragraph.  RR will get up later tomorrow.

PPS Nice job TWIN and Rob!  Success all around.

Thanks Linda. I think it hit 86 on the run...not bad at the start but there are these long stretches of completely windless non shady areas not to mention a fair number of hills. One of these days I'm gonna nail this run after bike thing.

Awesome job, Suzy. Congrats on the 85% FTP!! What did that feel like?

And yeah, way to hurl! You are soooooooo ready for your IM on that front!!

Like I said in your log... take off the wetsuit while you're doni that 1/4m run up the beach, or at least that's when you take it half-way down. Multitask, my friend, multitask!!

Cannot wait to read the full RR. So glad you raced and had a great day!!!!!

In our opinions, you DID nail the run after the bike thing!!

Congratulations on an excellent day. Super-duper impressed with your bike split!

I was getting so PO'ed at Athlete Tracker when it wasn't updating!!! In Suzy's race, they were showing people in the 40-44 AG who finished in 6:20 but weren't showing her yet. Driving me INSANE!! Glad you guys finished before I had to be elsewhere, LOL!
