Interesting local news story here, a golf course has become an attraction due to its lakes being infested with Bull Sharks! Apparently they got in a few years ago when a nearby river flooded and has settled in.

The ground staff have it in their contact that they mustn't retrieve balls from the water hazards...

Macca's doing a tri training course here soon. I love this time of year!

You're safe!  I've been in shorts for two weeks and am in them yet today.  The weather is supposed to change starting tomorrow...50s and rain, but no snow.  Think my shorts will be in hibernation until we go to Mexico and Hawaii!

Man I am hating this ITband injury.  Went to the Chiro this morning, a friend of mine that I eat lunch with, to let him do some ART and some stimulus.  He told me to go try it out, and I went to do a 2 hr walk/run.

Well it was mostly a WALK, but at least I was out there for a couple hours.  ITBand started hurting so I shut it down.  I really felt like I could run forever if I didn't have this nagging injury start killing my knee after 5 or 6 miles.  So I guess I am really going to shut the running down over the next 3 weeks and kick the bike and swim up a little and see what happens.

Maybe another cortizone shot is in order next week.  I would like this thing to be good to go on race day.

That sounds so frustrating, Barry. I'm sure you're already doing stretches, etc., but the stretches in this article helped me when I was having hip problems due to my IT band. Good luck, I hope your knee starts cooperating and fast!

Not really racing, but doing the Defiance 50k in Tacoma, WA as a training run. Going to practice nutrition and pacing for the 50 miler. Absolutely love Pt. Defiance Park, so it should be fun!

Not racing, but doing a 1/2 marathon walk.  It's an important day for me personally.  When I did this event one year ago, I was in pain the entire time from, what was later diagnosed as, exertional compartment syndrome.  This had been something that had progressively gotten worse over the years. It kept me from being able to run or even walk fast.  After last years walking 1/2 marathon, I finally went to the orthopedic surgeon and got the official diagnosis, underwent surgery on both legs and, after recovering, was able to start running for the first time in my life.

So, to make a long story short, It's like of like my one year anniversary from just "wishing" I could run, to actually being able to run.  That horrible long walk is also what finally led me to triathlon.  I've come a long way, baby.

Speaking of coming a long way . . . in the past week I've had my fastest short run and my longest run ever (9.5 mi.)

Just wanted to share.

I've been plagued by IT problems for years....what fixed it for me was no running for 3 weeks, foam rolling every day and a change of running shoes (plus an insole to correct my leg-length discrepancy).Run-walking for my long runs has also been important. Hope you get it sorted soon!

Rollers...what is your opinion? I have "the stick", it is ok and I was wondering what the MG prefers and why. How is the foam roller?

When I was having running issues, I used the stick for my legs and golf balls for my feet...  both worked well.
