Thanks for the support MG! Unfortunately my neck has been killing me since yesterday. It is really stiff and I cannot find my heating pad. (Send cheese to go with my whine). Anyway I have to ride tonight stiff neck or not.

Doug, be careful with your stiff neck! Heat and if you have Traumeel, that stuff is amazing. A little rest is better than hurting yourself even more by overdoing it. Great race, btw.

Ok, I am going to admit to something, that I maybe should not, but it has been a very slow Monday, and I need a victory of sorts.

As I was reading some of the race reports from our MG this weekend, I clicked the scroll wheel on the mouse and it took me to the bottom of the page..... the very bottom.

Hmm I say to myself, it looks like a thread, whats that all about I was just reading a RR.  Upon some further investigation, I find that below the Overall Event Summary.... THERE IS MORE!!!!! Room for people to leave comments about your race, sorry for all those I have only left comments in the MG in the past, I now know where to post the congrats, and also some more reading to do on my prior races!

Sometimes it's the little things....

I don't get to do this very often when it comes to my running workouts so I thought I would share my sucessful training last night.  7 miles with a 3 minute negative split and it felt great!   Pace average was a minute faster than my endurance pace of late and the second half pace was a 9:45min/mile!   I am super stoked!!!

I felt really good.  I'd had a physical therapy appt that afternoon and she loosened my tight back and shoulders and we discussed how people tend to do the "gorilla swing" with their torso when they get tired.  So I really focused on keeping my arms loose, my hips tucked under and driving through with my glutes.  I notice my feet came up higher in the back when I did that (so that is how people get that nice butt kick when they run Wink)  Weak glutes and hips have been at the root of my injuries.  I am happy to report I didin't have any pain and the nutrition was managed well so that I was a little tired but I could have continued on with another gel. I did a mile cool down walk and was skipping I was so excited!

Slept with the compression socks on and this morning, apart from eating everything in sight, I still feel really good.  I am super stoked.  I feel like the strength drills and running form drills are really starting to pay off.

Thanks for letting me brag a little.

I finally have internet again!  Last month has been super busy for me and my training has taken a major hit.  Went to Asia for 2 wks again and had to entertain and schmooze a lot.  In Asia it basically means drinking and eating a lot.  In Singapore business is hard core, all day meetings and then eating and drinking at a popular bar but not at the fun part of the bar but in a private room with meeting tables and white boards and bottles of johnny black.  Never did this before but drinking while drawing structure/deal charts until 4am is not my cup of tea and then we would be back into the office at 9:30am for more meetings with the same people, did this for 4 days straight..  Last Wed we finally moved into our new apt.  Over 7 months of renovation and it's still going on.  The contractor is wrapping up but still has his crew in and out.  The good thing is we're closing on the sale of our old place tomorrow!  It's nice to live so close to Central Park.  Since last Wed I already ran 4 times and biked once in the park.  My new gym is pretty nice too so no excuses, i need to do 2 a days to get in shape for my next tri in Sept or else I'm in big trouble.  All the running, swimming and biking progress went out the door this month.  Also not having internet, cable or phone for a week sucks.  I didn't realize how dependent I am on internet until I didn't have it for 6 days.  Any who, off to work and then train..

Ok, 4000 yards later,  I am back to eat a late lunch.  Since I am still a tadpole (sorry Linda!), these swims take forever, but I am now at the stage where I need to know I can pull them off so wasn't bored, more relieved!

Stan, so happy to see you back.  While I know work travel can be a pain, it sounds interesting.  What exactly do you do for a living?  ease back into those two a days ok?  don't want to be reading about an injury!

Hey....I have been AWOL, but been lurking in and out over the last couple of weeks.  I have been on vacation which has turned out to be very busy doing stuff, errands and a very short trip to San Antonio.  Back to work tomorrow and Bridgeland Sprint this weekend.  I think I am ready for this one.

I am very behind reading all the RR's but it appears we have a very active and successful group here! Congrats to all the racers over the last couple of weekends.  I plan to catch up on their efforts over the next couple of days.

Training has been so-so....but I am ready to re-focus on it after today.   I have the rest of my week planned out.  I signed up for half-marathon training as I am looking to do one in mid-January (not the Houston, but one in Sugar Land on the 16th).  I should have that plan by Thursday, then will have to figure out how to integrate the swim and bike in prep for the Oly I am doing in late September.  I may need some advice on how to best do that.

Hope everyone is having a great week and looking forward to catching up with the MG postings and the RR's.

Yes, everyone else is out training, including your competition!

Well my wife is making me feel lazy for not wanting to run with her tonight although I got a mile swim at lunch, about an hour on the bike already and I am cleaned up for the night.

I'm feeling tired.  Does that count?

And totally bummed - Vineman is out for next year.  Cry  I was so looking forward to it but just realized it is July 17.  My daughter's birthday is July 16.  Oh well need to find another summer destination HIM for the hubby and me.

great job Suzy!  I don't know how you can stand to swim that long in the pool.  That is my biggest obstacle to taking the IM plunge.
