Hey Trevor,  better watch out.  Ogopogo is rearing her ugly head in Okanagan Lake again.

Darn DP! ANyway, I am amazed how many people did NOT get in! Besides Suzy, who else is going to come down for the party? Come on you know you want to!

I would like to know where people are staying.  Fatty and Linda had an idea--is that the game plan?  I know it's a long way off, but figure we should be securing rooms soon, no?

shores of panama and i think we both booked through here

We should see if we can coordinate and get places close together.

My Doug and I were talking about how cool it would be to come down for this.  I've wanted to volunteer for another IM so this would be super cool with so many MG racers.  If there is off line chatter about where to stay please include me.

BTW,  thanks for the photos John. Those were awesome.  And I LOVE the sign!!!  That was my entire philosophy all day at Canada the way my tummy was behaving. Too funny.

Hey MG take a look at this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150384955694158.

Clay is a former marine, a cancer survivor and an Ironman! He needs to get back in this clinical trial or most likely he will die. You can find a great video here.

Serious Food Question ahead:

I am finalizing my Thanksgiving menu and want to know if anyone has a good vegetable recipe.  Sweet potatos are already on the list so I am looking for something else.  I always make the same brocolli dish and would love to test something new!

Hey Suzy. Try ratatouille. It's a great combination of veggies!!

X2 thank you all veterans for keeping us safe and free!  And a special thanks to my Dad for faithfully serving even during a time when some in the country turned against you and other Vietnam vets.

ashort33 - 2011-11-09 5:25 AM The SSMinnow is out of pocket today, so here is the Weekly Wednesday question:

BooYah!  The weekend is almost here!  Who's racing?

If you're not racing, what do you consider your key swim / bike / run workouts during training?

Always so late to the Wednesday party... No racing here. Key workouts? The ones that get done!! Ha! But the most beneficial ones to me, I think, are intervals on the bike or the run. They push me to the places I don't like and I feel like I come out of the other end stronger.

Good luck to everyone who is getting 'er done this weekend!! Have some awesome races and then hurry back here and tell us all about them so we can live vicariously through you!!

Me, I hope I can walk after Steve schools me on some hilly trails Sunday morning. They will be good for me!!! They always are!

If by "schools" you mean educate.... Yes I will!  The old get out of your comfort zone and HOLD IT THERE!!!  What goes up must come down.... JUST NOT ON THESE TRAILS SUNDAY !!!

So I did a cardio kick box class  5-6 Pm on Tuesday then went to our tri club swim at 9pm. About 3 lengths in I was questioning my sanity. Both my arms and legs felt dead. The worst part is that I wrote the swim workout so I knew what I was going to have to do before I got to the pool. I think all of us triathlete must be a little off center.

Good luck racing peeps!  Bring home some hardware!

My dad was WWII front line army with three purple hearts, a bronze star and several other recognitions.  He was a good soldier, a great husband and dad.  Visited my mom today to celeberate his accomplishments.  Today is always a tough day for her.  We still miss him.

Happy Veterans Day! Thanks so much to all the vets and to the families who sacrifice so much for us all! My son-in-law is in Afghanistan currently, and I pray every day that he will be home safe and holding my daughter and sweet baby grandson in his arms again soon.

Linda (Terps)- I love that your class did that! I would have teared up too.

Andy- Congrats on the weight loss! That's awesome!

Good luck to all the racers this weekend! Looks like it's going to be a cold and wet one for me tomorrow.

Happy Veterans' Day as well.

My Father has been in the National Guard/Army since Vietnam War (He went to Vietnam to 'clean up', but never fought in battle), and Iraq as well. He works on Helicopters.

My Brother is part of the Communications in the Army, and enjoys driving the Tank. He is MORE decorated than my father - served in Germany, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, etc etc. You name it. In a few years he'll be serving for 20 years and will retire. He was a little disappointed when the Army said that he is not allowed to drive the Helicopter...he's two inches too short. So, yeah, being short runs in the family. :-)

Both of my Grandfathers served in Korea, and WWII. I have lots of Uncles and Cousins on the Bono side of the Family that served in all various wars, and branches.

I'm proud to be an American.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmmhcVJhaW8  (Video that I did last year...I need to reformat the video to make it look better.)  Enjoy!

Back from my race. The Race Director (the mom of the girl with brain tumor) expected 100 people ... Over 250 showed up. PR'd by 3 mins. Not much but I'm happy to finally be sub 11!! Struggled with maintaining my breathing and had terrible side stitches. I am starting to seriously suspect that it's because of the milk (even though I had it 2 hours before the race). When I did the 7 miler two weeks ago, no stitches, probably because I only drank water and had a gel half way. Would have done faster for sure. Just a fun race, and to prep myself for the HM that's coming up. Now i know what works better for pre-race meals. No dairy!! GL to the other racers today!!
