Thanks all for the kind thoughts and crossed fingers. I've been working hard to get back to work. Despite what you hear about an improved economy, it's tough to get a good job lately.

Congrats on the gig, Dave!  I didn't realize you'd found something.

Also, congrats to Elaine on getting a spot in your class!

Very, very cool!  I knew I should have ordered one when I was at the expo.

I did, however, just get my finishers jacket in the mail.

You'll just have to do it again!

I didn't get a finisher's jacket, but I did buy a couple of hoodies

Home alone for a week (again)... planning on cooking up a storm, snuggling with dogs and college basketball. There are some things I should probably do Saturday (sorority founder's day brunch, girlfriend having people over for drinks) but probably won't.

Hanging with my friend before he heads his next Army destination. Riding with friends - and piloting for my visually impared friend. Leading my last ride for the people training for El Tour. Playing my last regular season soccer game.

Should be fairly low-key. And fun

I'm up for the usual for the weekend.  Think about working out, starting a diet, hitting golf balls, and house work, but end up drinking a lot of coffee, watching True Blood and playing PS3.

Looks like the windstorms this week finally finished off my maple tree. So it's leaf duty for me (not my favorite thing).

Friday night = copious amounts of wine with the girls to celebrate a friend's 40th

Saturday = trying out an aerial silks class in the a.m. (and trying not to hurl from the night before), watching the Nebraska game, watching Kona, out to dinner

Sunday = brunch with a friend which will likely mean copious amounts of Bloody Marys, couch, football... SEAHAWKS!!

Spent the morning in court testifying against two guys that were twins!!!!  Great convo between me and the defense attorney.

Spent the afternoon dealing with a flat tire on wife's car, had to go to the rescue.

I am glad today is over!

the GF was in Nashville all week visiting her parents and gets back into town tonight, and we don't have the kids this week. W00T!

Then a whole lot of nothing is planned for the weekend; going to see Ender's Game tomorrow or Saturday (we both just finished reading it), and  then watching football on Sunday.

Question for TAN...

I bought a bracelet from Stella & Dot that I love, but in wearing it yesterday it snagged my backpack (inner lining when I pulled it out of the pocket so I don't really care), jacket (again, inner lining so I don't really care) and brand new knit sweater that I just purchased on Sunday.  I'd like to get a replacement bracelet (and hopefully one that's better made), but is it reasonable to ask S&D to pony up for a new sweater since their product ruined my sweater the first time I wore the sweater?

You can ask, but I would say it's not going to result in getting anything but a new bracelet and MAYBE a discount on something else.  I would bring it up and see what they can do for you.  Probably not a new sweater though.

Rats.  That's what I was thinking was going to happen, but I'm just freakin' pizzed that my sweater has a great big snag through it from their product.  Pewp.

Make Tony buy you a new one. Then humiliate him. I read on the internet he likes that.

Not that I'm counting but 3 more hours.

On another note does anyone have any thoughts on these fitbit gizmos and if you think they'd make good holiday gifts for upper teen age daughters ?

i don't use one but is it something they have said they were interested in?  if they are the type to do short-term health/weight loss type "challenges" it might be a neat gift - the basis for a new challenge.

it could be kind of insulting if they think they are healthy/active enough already...

They're both pretty fit so I don't think they'd take it the wrong way. They're both pretty gizmo oriented tho so I think they'd like it from that perspective as well. They don't run or bike per se but both play a good amount of basketball and a fair amount of walking in their day to day lives.

I'm kind thinking too that the more they can track on what they're doing the more they might get into it and take to a higher level of fitness.

I've thought about that for a gift for the BF... but worry that it could be taken the wrong way. He DOES like gadgets and this is probably the only one he doesn't have... I dunno. He is trying to lose weight - we talk about nutrition a lot, purposefully cook super healthy together, and have signed up for a half marathon in April  - but this seems like it could be viewed as me pushing the envelope.

I intentionally don't talk a lot about his weight, except to tell him when he is visibly smaller for encouragement. He's lost 15-20 pounds and wants to lose another 20+.

I have NO other gift ideas for him and I've been racking my brain for at least a month. I hate gift giving!

PS4 is out today!

As I arrived to work, there were about 50 people lined up waiting for us to open. I also checked the cameras at other stores and saw that there were lines at all stores waiting for this release.

Anybody getting a PS4???

Hello TAN how is everyone?

Long time no TAN for me. Can't normally log on from work.

Well I am a Dad now I have a 7 week old Daughter Kerrigan Helen Sophia Bell. I am pretty darn happy. She has turned out to be a great surprise in my life and I wouldn't change it for anything. Happy Weird Dad Moment over.

Quit my Job last week and start my new one on Nov 25 with Dana Corporation and hoping it is much better then this HELL I have lived in for 2 years. I am hoping I have a social life again and can actually get back into triathlons.
