I saw that! One long day (if we averaged 12 minute miles, it would be almost 13 hours), but no overnight so that's good.

Plus - we need four Manatees + Driver

Minus - we need a van (or maybe two cars and two drivers?)

We can only hope!

The organizers analysis of each leg is interesting... (the feet/mile is my calc and doesn't represent elev loss)

Minimum of 12 min/miles - is it on the page somewhere or did you do math?  Yeah, this Pokey Pete can handle

The thing to remember is that the team as a whole needs to average that, not each individual runner. We'd just need to create a team or two that can achieve this.

Also remember that this is on roads so it's elevation without trail running obstacles.

How about this for a meetup instead of the Florida relay. The location is great, it is only one day, We already have 2 drivers (me and my hubster) and probably our cars as well so that is taken care of.

Cherokee and Asheville both have tons of things to do: There is wonderful Mountain biking, Paddling, hiking, restaurants, breweries,

AND I can accommodate folks here for free, for at least the night before the race. (We have 3 rooms, a sleeper-sofa room, and 3 baths for folks). Rooms in Cherokee would be good for the end of the race since our place is about 2 hours from there.

* During the hours of 5-8 AM and 4-7 PM, all runners must also wear reflective vests and head lamps.
* Teams will be checked for compliance at all Transfer Points and those not meeting these requirements will not be allowed to continue
* All teams must start their final leg by 7:30 PM. (Saturday, November 2 – Team Starts – 5:00-8:15 AM – White Duck Taco)

Unfortunately, I would have to be a no go. I have DD1 getting married the next week and we are inundated with family stuff for the couple of proceeding weeks. However, i am a supporter of the idea, if only because it is more scenic than Ragnar Fl.

If i weren't already doing this, I would do it  My  group goes to this area multiple times a year to run, hike, drink etc; so as soon as notice about this relay came out, we had a team. I'm excited for it, but also sad that means I cannot join the manatee team.

For those of you unfamiliar with the area, it is wonderful and you should do this !!

Partial hand up - I really doubt I will, but am waiting to see if I get in to the NYC Marathon lottery (race is that same weekend) before making any fall plans. They are supposed to announce lottery winners before the end of February.

I would be one of your slower runners - I average 12 minute miles on a regular day (run/walk) so keep that in mind
