Expert 1231 B'ham | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! My sister-in-law that came up to do the half marathon mentioned she is thinking about doing a tri next year and wanting to get a road bike. So after the race yesterday we hit up a few bike shops to get an idea of size, price, etc so she would know what to look for/ask about when she's shopping at home or on Craigslist. Anyway - we're at the Specialized dealer, she's test riding a Dolce and I notice my wife looking at one too. I give her a quizical look and she says "I want this one" - this was the highlight of my weekend. |

Ok, I hope you all don't think I am being sappy, but I thought of this yesterday while reading the MG posts in Laguardia. Do you guys realize how many times we turn to each other on this board to share news? Seems like the HIM/HM kids rushed back this weekend to post to us, I turn to you this morning re: my friends, Birdy feels the need to show his blister (thanks by the way) and the list goes on....pretty amazing given the fact most of us have yet to meet each other. Really cool. |

Really cool. That is pretty sappy But true! *No booze involved* I love this group - all of you. My wife still thinks this is a cult... When I say that I *know* someone who did IMWI or who lives in Washington and hikes mountains every other day, she just laughs. But I'm sure that within time, most of us will meet. And it'll be like we've known each other for years |

And then in Galveston / Augusta we can all pee in our wetsuits together! I hear ya too Suzy. And its so funny you wrote about Laguardia. Yesterday between football and watching those guys run around Augusta I was wondering if you were flying in and out of there. That's where I fly in when I go back to Connecticut. I hate landing on that dock/runway. |

Champion 5522 Frisco, TX | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! Hey everyone - congrats to the half finishers this weekend - be it IM or marathons! I came down with the cruddy cough and ended up not doing my sprint on Sunday - couldn't breath deep without coughing - probably could have HTFU'ed on the run and bike, but the swim wasn't going to work out with breathing issues. Anyway spent the day mostly crashed out on the couch. Still not sure if it was the same thing the rest of the family had or if it was some allergy reaction to the hay that I helped spread on the pumpkin patch at the church on Sat... Anyhow - still have the olympic to get ready for in two weeks! Gotta try to run in the morning! I will catch up on all the RR's tomorrow! Suzy - so sorry to hear about the accident - we all do stupid stuff when we are young - some of us are just luckier to get through it without major life consequences! Those types of stories really freak me out a as a parent though - you can do everything right and things can still go horribly wrong for your kid(s)... Steve - nice blisters - were you wearing two pairs of socks? John - great pic of the 'dillo... Don't see many of them that thick up here.. usually they are much thinner and adorn the public roadways... I assume that is June in the background - too cute! Jeremy - you need to lay off the man-tini's on Monday - JK - this MG is just like family to me! I ain't skeered to hug another man... Edited by ashort33 2009-09-28 10:36 PM |

Champion 6973 marietta | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! I'm running down the road this morning at 0430 (pretty dark out) and some guy yells YEAH JOHN... GO GET SOME. Since I'm about 2.5 miles from the house and Jarrett doesn't sound that much like a man I just yelled back GET SOME at the guy. (When I run I tell people to get some.) A couple miles later I pass another runner and he gives me a high five. I'm very outgoing but don't really high five people I don't know when I'm running simply becasue I'm usually pretty nasty. Then it dawned on me. This was husband of another BT'er thats lives in the area. Cool morning! Hope everyone has a great day! Edited by fattyfatfat 2009-09-29 9:24 AM |

It's funny we are talking about that now. I just got togethr with Tracy and her hubby Doug for dinner last night. Only 900 miles and $50.00 in gas for a personal hug. It was worth it. She's such a hottie Our whole visit consisted of tri talk and how good everyone has been doing. Congratulations to all the racers on the weekend. Sounds like everyone did fantastic.

Master 1952 Guelph, Ontario | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! KEEP ASKING QUESTIONS!!! Question for the group!!!!! I am thinking about putting together a book about triathlons and would like your permission to use your stories , quotes or quips if I ever get it done. Of courses any thing used would receive full recognition. Such as Tracy's. I learned how to blow snot rockets and spit. mY own falling off a stationary bike and of course our sharing of all the sordid details of personal life
Now it time to wake up my wife and head to the beach.. Everyone have a great day at work hee hee hee |
