GO LINDA AND JEFF!!! Great job on the swim, you two!!

Ignored my kids and pets this moring and churned out my race report.

Somebody seems to think I just stalk IM athletes and post fb updates all day... Thinks I don't write race reports or something. What gives??? (Just joking Suzy, you know I love you!!!!)

What can I say?  My brain was still frozen from sitting at Lambeau all day!  Way to get it done....wish the other racers would be as considerate...don't they know people are anxious for details?

Wow, methinks Kyla just quoted herself! Oh, and I just figured out what Suzy meant by "town crier". Monday, Monday. Wish me luck, folks, off to my next swim lesson. We'll see if I get to move to the next drill.

Surprise I raced again, had a really good race, no crashes, no flats, no broken bike parts, not even any bumps.  Finished 34th out of 117, started 55th so happy with moving up 21 spots.  In a big field if you start in the middle (like I did) it's tough as the lead guys get to have a clean course to navigate through while I have to wade through people almost coming to a complete stop at turns.

Congrats Linda!  How does it feel crossing the finish line after doing so many?

Enjoy the recovery.  And btw, can't wait to read the rr.

Wow, IMFL sold out online in 16 minutes this year, and IMAZ just sold out online in 11  10 minutes.

Crazy!

Edited to correct that IMAZ sold out in 10 minutes rather than the 11 I originally posted.

Sounds like there needs to be more sactioned IM's... if they are so sought after to sell out in less than 1/2 hour.

Seems to merit an increase in events... Surprised

Don't be silly.  They'll just double the size of the field!

Twin--good luck.  YOu've done the distance....my money is on drill #2 coming your way!

Way to go SAM LINDA and JEFF!!!!!!   Amazing accomplishments this weekend.

I survived my first cx race.  Tony I can't imagine staying in the middle of that field - I really enjoyed falling to the back to wait for my daughter.

This was something WAY OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE!!!   But I'm glad I did it.  It is amazing how all the habits I have for road racing don't apply to cross at all.  Let's count all the firsts for me this weekend:  borrowed bike, SRAM shifters, eggbeater cleats, riding on wet grass, mud, sand, jumping barriers, etc.   and it all happened at the same time!!!    I can see how this will drastically improve my bike handling skills.

The most important part of the race was seeing my daughter perform so wonderfully.  She was such a smart and safe rider.  She held her line, cornered great, never freaked out, climbed wonderfully (especially considering she was in tennis shoes) - just great.  We both feel much better about her racing in the future.

All the other racers were so supportive of her.  Both during warm ups and in the race people would yell encouragement and tell her how great it was to see young girls out here racing. I am one proud Momma.

I'll post some photos when I get home.

Nice work to all the racers this weekend, this MG rocks with IM's, Trail halfs, etc.

I was wondering when we were going to get a CX update from you.  Glad everything went well, congrats to you and your daughter.  So cool, I wish I could get one of my gals out there with me!

I also raced Cross this weekend and pulled a 13th place in the Wisconsin State Championships in my Cat!  And I did it on a 26" mountain bike no less.  Got lots of comments from guys I raced with about really kicking some tail next year after I figure out a way to get a real CX bike!  Best part is I also did my share to get one of the teammates a Win!

Pictures if your interested....

Awesome Tracy - cross takes some guts to get out there.  And so cool you could ride with your daughter.

And for those who have been waiting, here is my RR.  Sorry but it is long and graphic.

Tony and Sam, you two aren't really both logged on at the same time are you?  Are you in the same room?   Too funny,

Yes we were able to ride together.  The Masters 45+ went off first, then cat 4 women, then juniors.  I hung to the back of the women's group and waited for Lilly to catch up.  We were lapped on our second loop but for the most part we had most of the course to ourselves.
