1774 for me.

I hope they get the age group right. They have my current age and not my USAT race age as I age up.

Just to get rid of my nervousness about the water temperature, I'm going to believe every word of Sue's post.

Looking at the bib numbers, I think they've probably got the USAT ages correct in the system, even though they aren't in the list:  My bib number...and the numbers of the other (actual) 49 year old men I looked at in the list...are in the same range as the 50-53 year olds and not with the 45-48 year olds...and the 44 year olds appear to be grouped with the 45-48 year olds.  So they still have actual ages in the list, but the bib numbers appear to reflect USAT ages (as they should)

Bib #755.........I am so ready for this thing to get going.  I hope my nerves calm down soon.  I can't sleep at night. I almost skipped an interval on the bike yesterday because I started thinking about packing my bags, plus I loose my bike in one week.

Regarding neoprene accessories I recommend Blue Seventy Swim Socks and Blue Seventy Skull Cap. They provide warmth and good fit, I have worn both for races and training and will wear both for the St. George swim. Like anything make sure you practice with them before race day. Also, make sure you wear the swim socks inside your wetsuit.

Ironically the year 1055 is when my ancestors, the Welsh, defeated the Saxon hordes of England.  Its like they're watching me; or so I can pretend :P

Geoff, thanks for posting. These actually aren't that expensive, so I think I'll pick both up in case the water temp is below 65 degrees. I'm surprised the sizes are only small or large. I'm big heaed, I guess, and wear a size 13 shoe, so I'll go large with both. I'd rather be prepared.

Now I'm starting to wonder what all the hullabaloo is about.  I finally looked HARD at the bike profile, and realized it's only 4500' of vert!  PLUS, you go up the 'flatter' side of the hill...  The flattest ride I can do around here is still 4500 of climbing.  This is going to be just like any training day for me.  Now, if we can get the wind to come from the south so it helps us up, and we can tuck going down, we should be golden.

All this talk about cold water and hills.  Hogwash.

Yeah. I am not too sure the water will be a problem either. Have you seen the weather report for the next week? 80+ through Sunday. Upper 70s for at least a couple days after that. Then some rain for a few days. St George starts getting hot this time of year. I would show up prepared, but I am betting on warmer water at 60+.

We might still have some wind on the bike. And it might be hot on the run. The weather conditions are looking better every day. Cool

For you guys that might know....what is the usual temp around 8-9 am.  I am debating considering arm warmers on the first part of the bike, or does it warm up fast enough it would just be a hassle?

Today high was 80 degrees
8:00 am:  55
9:00 am:  56
10:00 am:  60
11:00 am: 63
12:00 noon:  70

Keep in mind we're largely climbing through mile 60 before any sustained downhill.  All depends on your tolerance for cold.  If race day is like today, I won't be wearing them - as I suspect I'd be looking to ditch them by mid-morning.  And I live in LA.

Where did you get 4500' from? I thought it was supposed to be around 6600' or somethin.

Looking at Garmin Connect, it looks somewhere around 6500, with the run around 3500.  I dunno about everyone else, but I'm looking forward to doing an Ironman that has so much elevation, it intimidates other Ironmen.  I'd put money there are people doing AZ and FL wouldn't touch this course!
