So disturbing. I read Dark Places and have Sharp Objects but am delaying reading it because I hear it's just as dark. i'm going to download these on nook right now. i like disturbing and i'm almost done with the book i've been reading lately! Listened to this on my drive to MO... My sister had already read it. Our conversations about the book usually went: Me: This is so effed up! This story is crazy! Her: What part are you at? Me: (whatever part) Her: Oh just wait. It gets weirder. It did. Every time. downloaded both, they start tonight. Read Gone Girl and just saw the movie last night - SO GOOD! Now need to get those other books - I'm a fan of dark & disturbing and I just reminded myself to cancel the interwebs so that Tony can sign up for internet AND cable for the same price and we can start watching American Horror Story again! Wedding planning, right? And did I see an injury in there? Hoping the Ex is leaving you alone. Work is in the toilet, wedding coming along (that is why god invented wedding planners right?) I buggered up my knee and having surgery this Friday. Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: NewTAN's Third Law of Motion Man, a toothache started Friday night and just got worse and worse all weekend. I even had the idea of getting a pliers from the garage and pulling it out myself... Talk about mind numbing pain. I even had some extra Hydrocodone that only just helped take the edge off. Didn't sleep a wink last night... Got up at 5am just to get in to work and then be at the dentist's office begging them to help when they opened. They got me in first thing, thankfully. Haven't been able to eat solid food for 48 hours - even on the other side of the mouth because if anything made contact - shooting pain. Ended up being an exposed nerve and inflammation/infection. They hooked me up with more pain meds and some antibiotics which they say will help but they just need to kick in. I'm in a world of hurt at the moment. They'll fix me up permanently on Wednesday, which can't come fast enough. I swear, during the worst moments? The thought (even though I would never do it) of a bullet seamed appealing... The whole head and neck mouth just swell and throb. Heh, heh, swell and throb.... But not in a good way.
On the positive side. The project I have pretty much spent the last 2.5 years working on opens up on Thursday. VIP grand opening party and everything! |

Jim, I'm so sorry - that sounds awful! Hopefully the pain meds will carry you through to Wednesday - but what's the permanent fix? I'm very, VERY thankful that I've never really had any tooth issues *runs to knock on particle board encased in a wood-like veneer for luck* and after reading the above, I hope I never do Will the mouth be all fixed up in time for you to be able to enjoy your big shin-dig on Thursday?? And congrats on the project opening!! :D |

And congrats on the project opening!! :D I had an old filling that over the years just stopped protecting the nerve. Dentist said the nerve died and got inflamed/infected... SO, remove old filling, remove dead nerve, then refill or maybe crown. Not the first crown I have had so it's not the end of the world. I was scared that it was the same genetic issue I had 4 months ago called root resorption which required me to take the tooth out and I'll be putting in an implant... My main dentist said that if it happens once, you are prone to having it happen again (however, the specialist disagreed and thinks it's typically a one time deal - usually a result of some long ago trauma)... Since an implant is not covered my insurance, I'm out 2k to get it done. But the crown is paid by insurance so I'm glad it's that instead of what I thought could be a whole mouth of future implants. SO, other than the one tooth, looking ok. Yeah, I actually asked if I would be ok for the party and if not, push it to Friday if the meds did the job. BUT, they said it's a 30 minute process and you are just fine afterwards - So I'm good to PAAAAARRRRR TAAAAAYYYYY. How messed up are THOSE priorities! AND I have a hot date to go with me! Been married 7 years tomorrow and not an itch has made it's appearance! For some reason, aches and pains in the head just suck. Ear aches, tooth aches, head aches... The just seem harder to cope with than say a banged up knee or something - at least for me. Liking Tejas so far? |

Can't blame her Good luck with the surgery and the interview! Hopefully on Saturday you're sitting fairly comfortably at home, reviewing a benefits package or something |

VIP grand opening party and everything! what is the project? when they opened the new convention center in pittsburgh, i had a friend who was an intern that worked on it and took me as his date to the grand opening celebration - it was insane. tons of foods and drinks, actors on stilts, robots that hula hooped, people that posed as statues, just an amazing party. hope yours is like that!!!
(also i realize that this was now 10 years ago so not new at all...sigh...) |

(also i realize that this was now 10 years ago so not new at all...sigh...) I was the project manager for the civil work of a 106 acre outdoor high end shopping mall... Yeah, there are 4 days of street performers, bands, fashion shows, face painters - anything you can think of.. Should be good. Thursday night is the VIP night for all the major players in the design/construction so we can all congratulate ourselves over drinks! Of course, all the execs will be there patting themselves on the back for a job well done but all they really did is write checks... But I'm not complaining! Maybe their might be some cool gifts and/or door prizes! |

I had about 4 blankets on me and still had chills. I was sure I was going to call in today with a fever but felt better this morning. I hate wasting PTO on sick if I'm not REALLY sick or contagious. |

In fairness.....that discussion has actually been pretty civil, so there really wasn't much to ask for, no? I've looked back at a lot of discussions from back "when people posted more".....uh, this is pretty tame or you long timers have short memories. On another note, Lisa........from your experiences, can Gluten cause headaches or are the problems all gastro? One of my twins is getting some really regular headaches that don't have any physical cause that shows up under normal examinations......and I have a feeling it may be food/allergy related. Any ideas? |

Any ideas? Yes, there can be a variety of symptoms of gluten sensitivity/intolerance. Headaches and "brain fog" are fairly common. Another common non-gastro symptom is skin issues like eczema. Pinpointing this kind of stuff can be tough best of luck! My nephew is going through something very similar right now. |

Also, no talking about other threads in TAN. I thought that was a rule. Even though the idea of "rules" seems silly on an internet forum. BUT, another example of why BT and social media in general has become bothersome to me. I rather not be bothered with arguments just for argument sake. Reading a book is more enjoyable than the nonsense most people spout on a forum - myself included. I have been spending the last 48 hours trying to find the perfect camera/laptop/daypack for traveling. With the hundreds of options out there, there is nothing "perfect". Maybe I found a niche in the market? |
