Dude, you aren't kidding, I'm sure! I've already mentioned my triathlete buddy who LOVES his spandex way too much - all of us agree that he's gonna be a total FREAK if he ever gets married.

And of course, there's me...

cami bee - 2008-09-18 8:56 AM Morning TAN.

Morning Cami.

TriToy: Hope you get to feeling better and you don't have meningitis.

Hey did you see that trihawks email?

Yep, I'll head over Saturday sometime for packet pickup and then meet up with you guys. Hopefully they figure out some way to cover up the gravel in the washed up part of the road. 250 feet is a lot of mid-race gravel road.

That does seem like a lot.  Also the mile of offroad trail in the woods.  They say they will have plenty of volunteers, let us hope so.  Not so thrilled about the offroad bit myself, or the gravel for that matter.  Personally I think they should have tried to change the stinking course 2 or 3 months ago, but that's just me.

Wait - what's going on at Trihawks?  BTW, I have decided to come and JS.

The trails actually sound like fun to me, but I'm not recovering from an injury.  I will, however, end up with Poison Ivy.

And I've got to remember that the keyboard in my lap isn't hooked into this computer.  Just typed over some customer data I was working on.  Whoops.

Wait - what's going on at Trihawks? BTW, I have decided to come and JS.

Construction/Flood Update: As some of the locals may have noticed, the roads have been lightly resurfaced for short stretches on Newport Rd. and Sugar Bottom Rd. We would like to avoid a course change, but also have to keep safety issues in mind. All of the roads on the bike course will be swept by Johnson County so they will be as clean as possible. Also as many of you are aware, the flooding caused a very short part of the road on either side of the spill way to be washed away. The area will still have gravel on it, but it will be even. However, because of the potential hazards, we are making this very short part of the course a MANDATORY REGULATED SPEED ZONE. We ask that everyone slows down to a very slow, sloth like pace so there are no accidents. You won’t win the race in 250 feet on the bike, so please be safe. We will also make an announcement about this situation during the pre-race meeting on race day. We strongly urge all participants to use caution when riding thorough these areas on the bike course.

RUN: [3.1 miles] Many people have asked about directions for the run course. Approximately 1 mile of the run course takes place on the Woodpecker Trails. I assure you that we will have many volunteers directing you through the trails and will have cones blocking areas that are not part of the course, as it can get confusing back there (but will be well marked). The trail is not paved and is made up of dirt and/or wood chips.

I'm glad you're coming to js!

So this lady just called my office for one of my officemates.  Only thing was she mispronounced his Chinese name so badly that it took me a while to realize that the person she was calling for was actually someone who works in this office.  Part of the problem is that he rarely uses his Chinese name, so I often forget that's his actual name until somebody calls for him.

That happens in my lab once in awhile.  One of the girls is Thai and her name is kinda hard to pronounce.  Lots of people butcher it.  She does use her Thai name, though, so we've all gotten used to it.

Yeah my other two officemates are Chinese and they use their Chinese names all the time.  But this guy doesn't so sometimes it throws me for a loop.  I also don't think his Chinese name is that hard to pronounce, I'm not sure why he doesn't use it.

ryan. spoke with the wife. she told me that just because I am jealous of a guy with bigger and better toys does't now mean that my stable of toys is not rediculous. WTF. She just does not appreciate my stuff, I gave her the option, toys, or a stable of other women. exact quote. "Girls, that way I can keep all the current toys and find another man that appreciates the fact that I let him have what he has. And remember, 3 kids, child support. I win."

"LET" owe hell no.. she is out of here!

Do I race on my new wheels on Sunday even though apparently a 250 foot stretch of the course is going to be gravel?  I'm leaning towards yes.
