Fred D - 2013-02-08 2:12 AM Swam this am. KInd of a mediocre one, but got it done. Office day for me and then weekend off. What's on tap for training?

Going to test out my 910xt for the first time in the OW.  There's a lagoon that's measured as 1000m one way, so we'll see how accurate it is...or how straight I swim...LOL.  Also very curious to see how well the swim improvements I've been seeing in the pool translate to the OW.

Your link didn't work for me, but I did search using the race name and found you!  Great job, you were so poised.  I only wished you took off your visor at the end.

They wanted the costume....I wish she had said something prior to going on air for how much shadow it cast on my face.  I would have taken it off.  It was off for the commercial for that reason.

Rockstar!

I can say I knew you back when...

In fact, I believe you and I went out for brunch with you wearing that exact outfit. Hah! (And the folks at Sine didn't even blink an eye, as I recall...)

So cool, Judi!

This weekend's agenda...swim/cycle today (a little of one, a little of the other) and a 6-8 mile run tomorrow...getting excited for the 1/2 mary next weekend.

So hubby has officially jumped on the tri wagon (and hasn't even done his first one yet)...he has now registered for 2 (one in April, one in May) and is considering jumping up to an Oly by the end of the season.

I've created a monster! The dude has stolen my copy of Triathlon Training Bible, coopted my bike trainer for a good share of the week, and is coming with me to a bunch of tri clinics this spring (and a couple on his own - the tri-101 stuff). I'm not sure what I put in his water, but I'm a little excited and a little scared!

Got an 11 mile run in this. Am. Absolutely perfect running weather here - mid50 s,low humidity and a slight breeze with beautiful blue skies. Can't ask for more then that. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

36 "miles" on th spin bike this morning. A week away and I have to reTrain the sit bones...argh!! The weather here isn't anywhere nice enough to be riding outside, as much as I want to. I suppose it could be worse though...at least we aren't getting yards of snowfall. I hope any of you who are in the northeast a safe and comfy inside today! Off to work this afternoon...ugh. Have a great weekend everyone!

My last long run pre taper.  Overall good pace and depending on how hilly the race is next weekend should be good.....Kristen, did you by any chance look at that?  I am figuring since she is starting it near where the Richmond half marathon ended that we'll be in for some crazy hills.

Website claims no hill >> 400 ft climb, but rolling throughout. I don't trust her.

I am heading to the pool today.  Think I will make an effort to do the full workout that was posted in Master's the other day--but I WILL use fins for the kick section cause that takes me too long without fins!!

Fred, I have started logging nutrition on myfitnesspal.com since my husband's recent diagnosis with diabetes and his use of the site.  I realize after logging again that I either underestimated how much I was shoveling into my face or overestimating the amount I was burning in workouts.  Since logging regularly, I am noticing a difference.  Just a thought....

Sounds like everyone has been having some challenges this past couple of weeks with sickness, weather, or plain motivation (that one is me).   Great to come on here and feel the support of the group.

This mentor group is great.  I'm learning much, and am a bit envious of the events this team is doing.  Two or three with IM's on the horizon, some with halfs and Oly's, and then there are those, like me, who are in a serious got to get back in shape mode to survive a sprint!   Great balance and great opportunities to learn.

Traveling all last week for me gave me a great opportunity to play ME vs. Mattress!  At the end of the week, it was Mattress 4, Me 2.   So pretty much missed my goals for the week.  Did get a fairly decent 4 miler in on Saturday, and then came home and did tape and mud on the new sheetrock -- UGH.  Now I get the joy of sanding it so we can do the second coat!

I'm going to work hard this week to reverse the score in the Mattress vs. Me game, but I may need a few jostles from the team to get there!  I'd appreciate it!

Great rest of the weekend everyone!

Yikes!  Talk about temptation!

I have moved a few pounds in the right direction.  Hope the neighbor kids aren't going to be coming around too soon!   Sealed

Fred D - 2013-02-10 3:33 PM Just finished a 47 mile ride outdoors. So nice to get off the trainer! Hope everyone is getting some training in.

Just got back from the pool.  2500 yards in just over an hour.  Not bad for me.

It should warm up around here this week, looking forward to getting out on my bike, even if it's just half of my lunch break!

Hi All!

Good job Judi and Fred!  I had a fairly easy day today after nailing my 10m pace run yesterday.

We started with sleet this morning and it has turned into a solid rain with 34F temperatures. Our driveway is  a 1/4m long and it's like an icie rink right now.  I keep telling myself I'll be in Hawaii on Thursday!!!!!

Here's to a good week for all of us.

Just finished my six miles which is a long run for me right now.  I was very happy with my pace especially for the first 4 miles.  Finally feel like I am starting to get better.  Tongue out

Nice training, everyone!

I did my 8-miler yesterday and almost made it in sub-11-minute-miles for the whole run. The mojo is coming back slowly. Slowly. Slowly. Must be patient.

Thankfully GS cookies are not my crack. They are everywhere at work - apparently my colleagues buy them and don't want to eat them, so they put them in the faculty lounge.
