The therapist doesn't think I tore anything; she thinks it is more likely a strain or the pinched nerve in my lower back causing problems. We're working on strengthening my hips and core, though, so that it's less of a problem. She did recommend not signing up for anything in the Fall until I know what's going on. Oh yay but oh rats! Still, it sounds like progress. Definitely progress! To be fair, she didn't say no marathon, she said wait. That's what I heard anyway. That is how I read it as well! |

Seattle | Subject: RE: Mad Manatee Mentors, Part 2! CLOSED I've been a little under the weather if you will, so I took some time to catch up on a few things including walking through breaking my bike down for travel and then building it back up with my instructor in my bike class. It was cake. I also thoroughly cleaned my bike up and overhauled the front hub. Holy crap, I had no idea how nasty a bike can get riding in the winter. My chain was NASTY. I thought it was a painted black chain. As it turns out it's not. |

This race I will have my Aunt's name written on the back of my race number. As well, in my race belt will be a small card with names or initials or usernames (you can see I've thought this through) of people that I will be thinking about/praying for. I have one taker at this point going on the list. If you would like your name on it, please let me know. I'll be praying for you! I probably can't run with you as I'll be at church all morning (that would be awkward). I'm thinking of doing something with names for my HIM. I'll have a list of friends/family members, especially the ones affected by cancer, for whom I will be praying (or their loved ones if they lost the battle) |

(full disclosure: I love to hate the Avs. I'm a Wild fan... Parise and Suter... yes please...) Yaaaaaaaay!!! Until Seattle actually has an NHL team, I can't discriminate. Welcome back! Doesn't Seattle have the Thunderbirds (AHL or ECHL...)? Then you just have to follow the team they farm to...We have the Stockton Thunder (ECHL)--sadly, they go to Edmonton...Clint follows Edmonton just because of that, though he is a Jersey Devils fanatic (weirdo)...Me, I like my Canucks, the Penguins, and the Coyotes...and formerly the Thrashers, before they were lame and moved to Winnepeg. Boo. Sorry to hijack for hockey...back as you all were. |

Awesome!!! So exciting!! But I must admit the developer in me sees 404 as a server error, LOL! But not for you; do the ol' upside down calculator trick and it spells hoh (no, not in a bad way, as in onward, hoh!!) OK, I'll shut up now. This made me laugh. Developer? What kind? Self Taught Web Developer here...did it for 2 years out of my living room. Worked on ASP.net platform and used jquery to spice the sites up a bit. Applications programmer mainly, a little web stuff here and there. Typically ColdFusion code (using javascript and some jQuery) accessing Oracle DB with the occasional app that uses MySQL or MS SQL Server. Not cute little Apple apps, mainly applications for gathering/using data for medical studies in clinics all over the US that my employer is the Data Coordinating Center for. Writing procedures and such in PL/SQL to help the various modules of the applications do their 'magic', LOL. Wow, it's tough to try to describe my job in a nutshell! |

If I'm not mistaken, you have a race coming up soon, no???? Are you still doing it? Hi Dub6! Things are well, thanks! I hope you're great too. I'm going to have to get into all your logs and catch up!! I have one last CC ski race next weekend - the Birkebeiner, 50k skate. I've done races 2 so far this winter (50k and 42k) and this is the last one of the season. Tri training started last week so I'm overlapping right now... Looking forward to the end of ski season and having to train at the whim of the weather (snow)! I've missed you Manatees! Thanks for taking me back!! |
